The Golf Rangefinder provides accurate distance measurements, at least at verifiable distances, such as 49 feet being correctly displayed as 16 yards, and 20 feet being shown as 7 yards. However, it does not work effectively through glass windows, producing very small or no measurements at all. The device comes with a protective firm case that has a handle strap, and it features four modes: flag distance, distance to object with angle, distance to object with vertical drop or rise, and distance to object with horizontal distance, all of which function as described on the product page. The rangefinder is powered by 2 AAA batteries, weighs 6 ounces with batteries, and measures 4.5 x 3 x 1.5 inches. It is worth noting that the power button is labeled as "Range" and operates by pressing once to power on and again to take a measurement, or by pressing the Mode button to select between the four operating modes. The battery life appears to be satisfactory, with no rapid draining observed. It has an adjustable viewfinder like binoculars do for those without perfect vision.

Let me start with the following admission: I don't golf. The only golfing I've ever done or ever intend to do is the sort that involves windmills, mazes, and whimsical designs. But that doesn't mean I don't have use for a short range telescope with LIDAR. As far as I can tell, this is an effective range finder. It can also find angles, giving both the angle you are holding the device, and the slope of the terrain you are pointing at--not at the same time mind, but both are definitely of some use. Saves the trouble of carrying around an angle finder. Once you get past the idea of this being a golfing accessory, the options open up. This is a useful tool for estimating heights and doing some low rent, low accuracy surveying. I wouldn't use it to plan a city, but a fence, or getting a sense for the height of a tree, or getting measurements to estimate how much siding or paint I might need, picking the right size ladder--or to evaluate performance on a target range--these are uses I think this can reasonably be put to for a modest price compared to the equipment marketed for those specific purposes.

I absolutely love this rangefinder. It is incredibly easy to use, with an intuitive design that makes it simple to operate. One of its best features is the Slope mode and Angle mode, which provide highly accurate distance measurements whenever needed. Thanks to this, selecting the right club during a round has become much easier, and it has significantly improved my overall game management. The battery life is also outstanding—once fully charged, it lasts for more than six months, eliminating the hassle of frequent recharging. Compared to the other two rangefinders I own, this one seems to provide even more precise and reliable distance readings, making it my go-to device on the course. In addition to its great performance, the rangefinder is also well-built and lightweight, making it easy to carry around during a round. Given its exceptional accuracy and user-friendly design, I believe this is one of the best rangefinders available, especially considering its affordability. If you are a golfer looking for a reliable and high-quality rangefinder, I highly recommend this one!

Short version: No, I would not recommend this golf range finder for a serious golfer. For occasional use, it could be fine. (ergo 3 stars, because it works, with caveats...) I have multiple golf range finders. Almost all of them are rechargeable (which is handy, but can present a problem if you play multiple rounds without recharging.) This rangefinder uses 2 AAA batteries, which was not mentioned. "AAA" did not appear in the entire product description. The only mention was in the "batteries included" in product description, which said "yes". Having a set of replacement batteries is fine, but buying a range finder should indicate rechargeable or AAA batteries. The range finder is very flimsy in construction. Holding it in one hand and another after market range finder in the other, the difference is obvious. The user manual was similarly minuscule and vague. It had 7 different range finders' in only 2-page instructions each. Instructions are to press the first top button, which makes the crosshairs appear, then point them at the pin (or general direction). Releasing the button causes a vibration, which may or may not be the pin. My other range finders you wave back and forth until they lock onto the pin. In repeated tests with other range finders, the measurements were within 5 yr., if measuring to the same target. So my 3 star rating is because 1) not rechargeable (I could forgive), 2) must (try to put) crosshairs on pin), 3) not reliable locking onto the pin, 4) range measurement inconsistent, 5) very lightweight construction, 6) difficult to focus the ocular. I applaud some of their range and capabilities, but for golf, having to try to put crosshairs on the pin, from 150-200 yd. is a major failure. Not all golfers have rock-steady hands.

This rangefinder works really well. I do range shooting regularly which I use this for. The rangefinder can of course be used for golf as well. It features a flagpole mode specifically for that. The rangefinder also has a slope and an angle mode. At a 1400yd range, the rangefinder covers beyond what I use it for. It features a 6x magnification which is nice. Compared to the range I shoot at, it has proven to be accurate. My biggest complaint is that it runs on AAA batteries instead of being rechargeable. All in all, the rangefinder is good quality, accurate, and has a good range/magnification.
