KastKing Speed Demon Pro Fillet Knife with Protective Sheath

So this will be an updated review on this product. Since purchasing this knife I have used it to fillet over 50 salmon!!! Here in Washington we have a pink salmon run that is phenomenal! Between my daughter and we have put over 50 fish away and I have filleted everyone of those with this knife. It has not lost its edge yet. It fact I even used it to chop through the tail bones and have not had any issues with it staying sharp. I have one in each of my fishing bags (2) and I even have one in my hunting pack. Great product great purchase. Highly recommend.

Nice knife. Holds an edge

This knife works great. Not as sharp as i wanted out of the box, but sliding it through the sharpener 10 times brings that edge back up really nice. I catch smaller fish off the ocean pier like mackerel, big jacksmelts, croaker, large barred sand bass, and bonito. Once in a while my uncles bring over rock fish. The tip is very sharp for that initial slice and the edge on the blade slides nicely during the filet process. As a habit I put the knife through the sharpener in between fish. Either way, this knife is easy to hold and slices just I was wanted.

First the good- 1 Razor sharp right out of the box 2 Good blade flex 3 Nice packaging and sheath 4 Comfortable in the hand 5 Phenomenal price The Downsides- 1 While the handle is comfortable and ergonomic it is made of a fabric material that seems like it's not going to do well after getting wet and might absorb and hold some fish slime and smell. Not good silicone like most other brands. But only time will tell. Overall I'm very impressed but still very concerned about the handle material and wondering why they chose to go that route. I've owned another one of their fillet knives and it had a great silicone or rubber type of handle that was the same price so this is a brain scratcher to me. Probably not good for commercial fishing. Still a nice knife and worth the money.

My go to fillet knife for small fish, such as Crappie, brim or small bass.etc. Came sharp out of the box! 6”knife. Not as flexible as the 7” kast king knife, but works better for smaller fish.

I have now purchased two of these knives for trimming steaks and brisket. I bought the thicker version. The thinner models would definitely be better for filleting fish. They hold an edge very well and are easy to sharpen. Well worth the money.

Gift for a fisherman, works great

The morning it was supposed to arrive we went out and caught some fish! Got home, cleaned it and was able to use the knife right away. Blade was very sharp and cleaned out some great fillets with easy. Would recommend to anyone. One thing, the handle is a bit large but I like the extra grip. Some may want a slimmer handle...
