Can you explain the difference in persian (sargol), persian (super negin), and spanish (coupe) i am new to using saffron. thank you.

The spanish saffron, from spain (La mancha) is the best saffron in the world, literally, its flavor is in other level from the persian. The point is... says "spanish" but... is from Spain? From where in Spain? That is what i wonder.

Where does this saffron come from? and is it non-gmo?

There are 2 types: Persian and Spanish. Red Label = Persian. Black Label = Spanish. Persian comes from the Middle East or Afghanistan. Spanish comes from Spain. While these industries have been heavily regulated for many years, there are a lot of imitations out there. The threads come from a specific crocus flower, and I highly doubt that they have been genetically modified. If you want to worry about something, worry about getting ripped off by inferior or imitation products. The real stuff is EXPENSIVE. That is because it is not easily mass produced. My wife loves Spanish Cuisine and this product has worked well in my recipes.
