TOPWAYS 6 pack Hose End Quick Connect fitting 1/2" Hose Pipe Quick Connector

Needed to replace some old Hose lock connectors and thought I would try these out, work well, seem good quality and leak free, grip the hose securely. They come with a bag of O rings and rubber washers which are not for the the connectors supplied but the other female connector which is often the issue, a nice touch and easy to replace the O ring washer and internal washer on the tap connector at the same time, it's now a tighter fit with the new O ring but leak free. Def recommended and a great price too in bulk.

They are not as good quality as others, but the seem to work well nontheless. They also come with a selection of washers and o'rings. Not sure why these are supplied, but handy anyhow.

Even when fully tightened, they will slip off easily. I have had to add plumbing tape to keep them on.

These should be good replacements for old fittings.

Unfortunately these are not suitable for UK hose pipe. If you see my photos you will see a comparison between a good Hozelock fitting (the one with the red thread) and the Topways. Look at the shape and size of the part which pushes inside the hose (ignore the shut off valve on Hozelock one it’s irrelevant for this review). You will see the Topways is much much wide without any chamfer. This inner part is actually too big for standard UK hose and if you see my picture with the hose you will see how the hose deforms into a flat as you put pressure to push it onto something too wide. If you do really persevere you might get it over but consequently the hose does not go on far before it flattens and most of my connections leak water badly! Secondly these have badly been injection moulded (I work for a plastics company and see this when machines are not set up correctly) and in my third picture you will see the Center (too large) section is not fully moulded meaning poor manufacturing with plastic not getting everywhere in mould. Avoid these pieces of rubbish and buy British quality items instead!

I purchased 3 packs (so 18 connectors). 3 of the 18 have leaked - they didn’t seem to provide as strong a gripping force around the hose as the other 15 (possibly a very slight manufacturing difference). I even cut the hose in different places but still no joy. However, the 15 which do work have been excellent and are equally as good as an alternative better known brand for much better value.
