What is the life expectancy (NOT run time) of the battery?

They are warrantied for 3 years so about 37 months. But seriously, without a catastrophic failure they could last many years past the warranty just at an increasingly diminished capacity. The biggest problem is that the multiple cells inside the battery degrade at different rates and the weakest cell is always the most stressed. Fast charging and high current demand usage also increase stress, the main indicator is heat. If you push the batteries until they are hot (charging or discharging) degradation occur more quickly. Running batteries hard below 20% of charge causes degradation. Basically the increasing internal resistance from a low state of charge or from degradation will causes the batteries to heat up more quickly and excessive heat destroys the batteries.

How can i ensure ego products purchased on amazon are covered by ego’s warranty?

The fact is there is no EGO warranty unless the product is sold by an authorized sell. Amazon is not. The description describes the actual warranty. I got stung buy here. Buy from Lowes or other authorized seller.=s and get the warranty. Avoid this recycled junk.

Should be able to. I have two 5Ah and can get 2000W from it on the powerstation.

Built to last! The 5.0Ah. is a solid battery option for big jobs. i use it for my EGO leaf blower. i admit it is a bit heavy using it on large leaves area to blow and will require changing hands due to the weight. Beside the weight it is very easy to load and remove from the blower. 5.0Ah. is very powerful and will get the job done.

An early, weaker battery, for the EGO tools eventually failed, but the higher end battery has worked like a charm. I have two of these now, which I alternately charge, and they power the lawn mower, hedge clipper, blower, and wire trimmer, and I never run out of power. I don't use the electric chain saw (still have a 2-stroke gas-powered engine for this) but love the rest of the tool set that EGO offers. The drawback is the price -- paid close to $600 Canadian for the mower, but it is very nicely designed. Overall, worth the investment -- just hoping the company is around long enough for servicing and replacement -- there's a lot of competition now in this market from the longterm powerhouse tool companies.
