This marking gauge works great. What sets it apart from other marking gauges is the fine adjustment. That is a very useful functionality, and the reason up upgraded from my previous marking gauge that did not have that. I am glad I did as it is now much faster to set the marking gauge with precision. Well built, quality materials used, good price.

I prefer this type of wheel marking gauge to the other types I've tried. This one is nicely made, and I use it a lot for laying out joinery. It is easy to set and the setting locks reliably. There are two knurled knobs that lock the shaft. One locks the position of the gauge and the second locks the shaft to the micro-adjust mechanism. To use the micro-adjust, loosen the main locking knob and tighten the micro-adjust knob. There is some "play" in the thread for the micro-adjust mechanism, but there is a nylon set screw that you can adjust, so everything stays in place when you engage the micro-adjust, so it is possible to use the micro-adjust to nudge the setting a bit in either direction before locking the gauge setting. After you have the setting right, tighten the main locking knob. The gauge has some depth marking, but I don't find that useful. I'm usually setting the gauge based on the thickness of a workpiece or using a combination square. I use this gauge almost daily, and I expect it will give me years of reliable service.

Considering the price and my past experience with less expensive stuff from Amazon, I half-expected to get a completely worthless piece of junk. This is a rare instance of being pleasantly surprised. This is not a super fine high-quality tool, but it's not a super fine high-quality tool price either. However for the price, it is a very high-value. It works like it's supposed to, which is what is important. I haven't checked the scaling to see if it's accurate because that's irrelevant... measure twice, cut once. I never rely on the measurement guage on a tool I am using, I always rely on my calipers/tapes/etc for measures, like a proper craftsman. When locked down, the tool is solid. Tested it's ability to scribe a line on a scrap piece of birch ply I have and it works like it's supposed to. The only place that's not entirely satisfactory is in the fine adjustment knob, which has a little play in it, and not something you exactly want to see in a fine adjustment knob. But it does work, and for the price of the tool, is a great feature even if it's less than perfect. Plenty of much more expensive wheel gauge markers don't even have a fine adjuster. The main takeaway here is you're getting a less expensive tool but a much higher value and quality than what you would otherwise get at this price point. It is mostly well built, quality materials, and does exactly what it is supposed to and how it's supposed to, when used correctly.

This is my fourth marking gauge and my last. I have been experimenting with different gauges to see which would work best for making handmade dovetails and yours has been the best. You wouldn't think there could be many features to a marking gauge but I found out that there are. Most of the tutorials on making dovetails on YouTube recommend wheel-type gauges for convenience and for good visibility during the marking and I have come to agree. I had other wheel gauges (by good brand names) that worked fine except that the setting tends to slip during use, no matter how tightly the knob is set. For accurate work, that is unacceptable. Your gauge holds the set easily and firmly with little torque on the set knobs. I like the way the flat head on your gauge allows quick and easy setting of the depth against the width of the tail board for dovetails. The micro adjustment works fine. I agree with others who have said that a quick instruction sheet might help the new owner to figure out how that works; I hear some real frustration amongst those reviewing the tool and I admit that it took me a few minutes to figure it out myself. Overall, I am very pleased with your product. It has helped me make quick work of accurate marking for dovetails and that is all I ask.

This is a quality marking tool. You can tell just by holding it that it's well built. I need precision for the work I do and this tool delivers. I check the gauges and scale markings and they are spot on. The tool is designed very well, with a recess for the marking edge when stored. The fine adjustable feature is wonderful. The knobs are large enough to easily loosen and tighten without strain to the fingers. I highly recommend this marking tool to others I've seen that are more expensive.

No problems with packaging or delivery. This is a lovely, quality wheel gauge for a not too expensive price. Appreciate the metric and imperial measurements, the micro adjustment and slide adjustment mechanisms. Easy to use and has helped improve accuracy of cuts for me, especially for rip cutting, as it does not wander with the grain. Spare cutting blades included. Overall excellent value for money. Recommended.
