High quality marking gauge I use for cutting hinge mortises on small keepsake boxes I make. I really like how it has a micro adjustment. Very accurate.

I prefer this type of wheel marking gauge to the other types I've tried. This one is nicely made, and I use it a lot for laying out joinery. It is easy to set and the setting locks reliably. There are two knurled knobs that lock the shaft. One locks the position of the gauge and the second locks the shaft to the micro-adjust mechanism. To use the micro-adjust, loosen the main locking knob and tighten the micro-adjust knob. There is some "play" in the thread for the micro-adjust mechanism, but there is a nylon set screw that you can adjust, so everything stays in place when you engage the micro-adjust, so it is possible to use the micro-adjust to nudge the setting a bit in either direction before locking the gauge setting. After you have the setting right, tighten the main locking knob. The gauge has some depth marking, but I don't find that useful. I'm usually setting the gauge based on the thickness of a workpiece or using a combination square. I use this gauge almost daily, and I expect it will give me years of reliable service.

I bought this gauge in preparation for getting into hand-cut dovetails, among a number of other fine woodworking projects. This type of gauge was recommended heavily by a large number of Youtube content creators, so I figured it was probably a worth buy. I was not disappointed. I have been blown away by the number of ways I can use this in lieu of a tape measure, and so much more quickly and accurately as well. Once you integrate the use of this tool into your routines, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much faster and more accurate your work becomes. The quality of the tool seems good; nice weight in the hand, the flats on the brass body are great for preventing it rolling off the workbench, and the cutters are sharp as expected. I bought this "upgraded" model that has the microadjust feature, thinking it would be well worth the investment, as other tools with that feature, like my table saw fence, benefit greatly from it. However, I found that the slop in the threads of this microadjuster is too great for it to be useful for any genuinely "precise" adjustments. I'm sure I could adjust my technique to optimize results, but this feature, it's lack of accuracy, and challenge in use was a bummer. I have chosen to use my digital height gauge to make the sorts of high precision adjustments I need to make instead, and that works well. Overall, this tool is a worthy buy!

This is a quality marking tool. You can tell just by holding it that it's well built. I need precision for the work I do and this tool delivers. I check the gauges and scale markings and they are spot on. The tool is designed very well, with a recess for the marking edge when stored. The fine adjustable feature is wonderful. The knobs are large enough to easily loosen and tighten without strain to the fingers. I highly recommend this marking tool to others I've seen that are more expensive.

This marking gauge works great. What sets it apart from other marking gauges is the fine adjustment. That is a very useful functionality, and the reason up upgraded from my previous marking gauge that did not have that. I am glad I did as it is now much faster to set the marking gauge with precision. Well built, quality materials used, good price.

I've been using pencil or a scribing knife for marking my cuts in my woodworking shop, but needed something to help scribe cuts where I needed to either chisel or plane and create a groove that I can follow with either tool. This product works well and gets the job done. It's sharp and will get stuck if you use too much pressure on the first run, but if you use it as directed, it provides a consistent line to follow. Its a well made product - I always judge on the weight and quality of the construction and this has both. Would recommend for someone interested in this type of tool for their projects.

No problems with packaging or delivery. This is a lovely, quality wheel gauge for a not too expensive price. Appreciate the metric and imperial measurements, the micro adjustment and slide adjustment mechanisms. Easy to use and has helped improve accuracy of cuts for me, especially for rip cutting, as it does not wander with the grain. Spare cutting blades included. Overall excellent value for money. Recommended.
