My Favourite Kindle Yet! 😉📚
I've loved using Kindles, ever since I bought the 4th Gen Kindle, over a decade ago. I recently bought another 4th Gen, a few months ago, to have as a backup. I've been using a 10th Gen, White, Basic for a few years and loved it, because it (unlike all of the black models, I've ever seen) didn't show fingerprints, which, tbh, annoy the heck out of me! However, recently, as it's always been in a case, so I can't understand why, it's developed a small "crack" in the frame, to the right of the screen, so I decided that maybe it was time to upgrade. Looking at the colours of the 11th Gen 2022 Models, I liked the "Denim," but was worried that, it too, would be plastered with fingerprints in no time. So, I was pleased when they brought out the Green/Matcha coloured model for 2024, (although I would've preferred a white option) in the hope that it wouldn't show fingerprints as much as the black option. I decided to wait for the Black Friday offers and was disappointed to find, that when they were listed on Thursday, at first, that only the black option was reduced on the Amazon Site (I later found that the Matcha also went down in price, later in the day) But the Matcha was on offer in a High Street Store, so I immediately ordered it and picked it up on the same day. I have to say, that the Set Up process was a breeze. I used the Kindle App on my phone and within minutes, it was all set up. I am particularly pleased, having spent hours, in the past, having organized my Library into "Collections," that all of my collections were transferred to the new device, which was something that I was worried about, but no issues. As to the device itself. It's a delight. I didn't think I'd like the "green" colour, but I absolutely love it. It's very compact and lightweight and a pleasure to hold "naked," and/or in a case. NO fingerprints. The front "bezels" on the device are made of some sort of matt "coarse," almost "roughly" textured plastic, which resists fingerprints and which makes it very secure to hold "naked." The screen is clearer and sharper than previous Kindles. The page turning process is very snappy and the screen, very responsive in all actions. One thing I am particularly pleased with, is that I have never been a fan of the "progress in book" option, which I couldn't disable/turn off (permanently) on my 10th Gen Kindle and whenever I did, I was constantly "reactivating it," accidentally, which I found very annoying. However, although the options are still available and I have it set to "page/percentage" I haven't once managed to "change," the status of the progress by accidentally touching the screen, at the bottom. In fact, I have tried to deliberately change the progress, to find that it takes several taps to do so, which is something I'm not at all unhappy about, so I'm happy to leave it on "page/percentage," rather than trying to turn it off completely. I have also purchased the OEM case for the device, which, although very pricey, fits beautifully, is comfortable to hold and doesn't feel "bulky" unlike the OEM case, I briefly tried on the 10th Gen Kindle. I did try a cheaper case, but, sadly, in spite of being advertised for the 11th Gen 2024 Model was too large for it and had to be returned. There don't seem to be that many options, thus far, for this particular model of KIndle. All in all, I would say that it's my favourite Kindle yet. If you're looking for a good basic e-reader for a reasonable (especially at the moment) price, then I would say, look no further. I can thoroughly recommend this device! 😉📚

Never going back 🙏🏽
Absolutely stunning. Was thinking for a while on which one to buy, but as I've never had one before I thought I'd go with the cheapest to see how it goes. It's in black and white which is absolutely fine, I don't need colour to read the pages, it's tiny, smaller than expected but super light to hold and im glad it's so small! I've read 5 books now in less than a month and had the ad free version. You can see which books are kindle unlimited and even the kindle books are ALOT cheaper than buying an actual book. I was worried I had too many books and where to put them all! But I can read as many as I want without taking up the space. You can borrow only a certain amount of books at one time, but that's ok as why would I want more than 20 borrowed anyway? I can only read one at a time. You can buy alot of accessories for them too online, handles, popsockets, cases etc... I've chosen to decorate mine. It can be individual. There is no glare AT all when reading in the sunshine (even on the lowest brightness setting) and the battery lasts for ages! ( I automatically set mine in settings to lock after 5 minutes of no use) I can read on my side when in bed and when going away, you don't need to take 8 books with you, you can just take this kindle and have 8 books downloaded, ideal for frequent holidayers! I went for the 16gb as I wasn't sure how much space id use, and I'd say it's perfect for me. The colour is gorgeous and there's so much information you can see from each book. It also gives you suggestions on what books to read based on what you've read. I've now linked to Goodreads so I can find books Id like to read once I've finished. The best thing I've ever bought being a book reader, take it everywhere with me. I looked at YouTube videos to find which one would be best for me and there's lotss of tip and tricks that you can get from your kindle. 100% worth the purchase and I'm sad I hadn't bought one sooner. Never going back 🙏🏽 size comparison to a cola can 😬

I like to smell books
I love books. Actual, physical books that you can hold and smell. I love to smell books. I own hundreds of books, maybe even thousands. So I did not know how I would get on with a kindle but the convenience of being able to store so many books on it and in such a compact size appealed for work and travel. I've had it for just over a month now and I LOVE it!!! The battery life is fantastic, I read a lot and I have not yet had to charge it. I really like the screen and being able to read in low light conditions without putting a light on. I like how small, thin and lightweight it is. I can hold it in one hand. I like how it works, saving where I am in the book I am reading - ready for when I next pick it up. I like being able to look up the definition of words quickly and easily. It's a marvellous thing, and I am so pleased I bought it 😊

Almost Perfect
Absolutely brilliant, jailbreaked mine and got rid of amazon on it and it works so well now. Nearly 1k books all for free. It is really cheap for what you get and it comes with USB C which is perfect for nearly everyone. Its quite small at around a hands size. Buy this if you want to read on a beach or anywhere else without worrying too much about it being broken. Its incredibly light compared to my old 3rd gen kindle and even my kobo. It comes with wifi and bluetooth and can do some basic web browsing and looking at news.

Excellent except for the setup process
Excellent e-reader. Amazon has definitely perfected this device well over the years, the e-ink display refreshes very quickly and the 300ppi display is very crisp and clear. The backlight makes it very easy to read even in direct sunlight while the night mode makes it comfortable to read in bed. This 11th gen Kindle also has USB-C which is a very welcome upgrade from my previous Kindle that still used micro USB. The colour option is also very nice. I usually go for more “conventional” colours for my tech but I decided to go for the colourful option this time and I’m glad I did. My only issue was with setup, where I had two issues. Neither of these were with the device itself, but with Amazon’s software. 1. If your account has OTP for two factor authentication, signing in on the Kindle itself is unreliable and, at least for me, it didn’t work at all. The only way I could sign in was with the mobile app. Even though I reset my password and tested it on other devices, the Kindle still wouldn’t accept it. You’re supposed to be able to put in your password + the OTP code to get around lack of 2FA support on the Kindle, but I tried this at least ten times with multiple reboots to no success. 2. When I tried setting up through the mobile app, the app didn’t discover my WiFi networks because they use WPA3. The Kindle itself is perfectly able to discover and connect to these networks but the Kindle mobile app isn’t. Which means I had to use a mobile hotspot for setup and manually change the WiFi network on the Kindle after. This was still an issue even if I already connected the WiFi on the Kindle manually before starting the mobile app. Why? The mobile setup process uses Bluetooth, it should be able to just check if the Kindle already has WiFi connected, but it didn’t. Between these two issues, setup took me an hour due to all the troubleshooting. Both could easily be fixed by a large company like Amazon simply by updating the Kindle software to properly support OTP and updating the mobile app to support WPA3. These are very easy things to do for a trillion dollar company. I did take off a star for this as it was a much more stressful setup process than it needed to be. Thankfully, once I finally got it set up, the device itself is excellent.

Perfect travel companion.
I normally prefer to read a paperback but got this for travelling. Exceeds expectations in this regard as it's featherlight and small and super easy to use with one hand.Text is super clear and easy to read at night so you don't disturb anyone. Highly recommended.

Amazing
Love love love my kindle! Best thing I’ve bought for my holidays and going away. So easy to take anywhere! Battery life is great I barely need to charge it. Screen quality is great I love the night time setting too, really helps me sleep. Great product would recommend this to anyone who loves reading it’s so much neater than having loads of books.

Third time lucky
I purchased this Match Kindle Basic after less-than-ideal experiences with the 12th Generation Paperwhite Signature Addition & the new Colorsoft, because they both had the yellowing along the bottom of the screen that seemed to get gradually worse, so I ended up returning them both & buying this device in their place. For starters this version does not have the warm light settings, meaning the screen cannot develop the yellowing, & that is the main reason I chose to go for a Basic, rather than waiting for the perfect Paperwhite 12th Generation or Colorsoft to be delivered to my door. I am very pleased with this little basic - the screen is smaller (6" rather than 7") but it is so much more crisp; I wanted the Colorsoft for the covers of my books & for the images in my aviation books, but aside from the yellowing of the screen, I felt that the images were not clear, so when this little beauty arrived I expected to be a bit disappointed with the pictures because they are black & white, but I have been very impressed thus far. As you can see from the photos, the images are clear & crisp ... I read a lot of aviation books so the covers are predominantly blue, grey, brown, white, silver & black, but so far I have been able to make out the covers due to the excellent quality of the screen. I was initially a bit worried about the storage, as I do like to buy the titles rather than borrow them from Kindle Unlimited, but I have 334 titles on my device & there is still plenty of room - I have also got KU now as it was part of my package when buying this Kindle Basic. I have been using it every day, for extended periods & the battery life is pretty good, possibly not as good as they advertise, but I never only read for 30 minutes a day; I had it Bluetoothing to my AirPods for about 4 hours on Sunday as I was listening to an Audible title, so technically I'm not using it as their test model prescribes, so it's not a surprise my battery is not lasting very long. I charged it to 100% on the 8th of January (the day it arrived) & I'm averaging around 2-3 hours reading (brightness between 6 & 14 depending on the ambient lighting) & I've also listened to Audible via Bluetooth for around 6 hours & the battery is now down to 33% ... it's not too shabby, I can live with it. I love the Matcha colour, I also like that the device is slightly textured, not smooth & ultra slippy in my hands - I put a case on it when I took it out of the box though; I like the size - it is not too bulky or so small, it's a good size & weight to hold in one hand; the screen is anti-glare so I have not put a screen protector on it, as I don't feel it needs one. I've been a Kindle user for many years, so I can honestly say that this version is an upgrade - before my recent escapades with the new Paperwhite & Colorsoft I had the PW Signature Addition 3rd or 4th Generation (I can't remember exactly which one) but sadly I lost that on holiday in July 2024, hence my need to replace it ... will I buy the new Paperwhite or Colorsoft when they fix the bugs, probably not, I don't see the need for spending that much money when my little Matcha Basic cost me less than £100 & I like it very much.
