Does the 150 in Ferrex 150 stand for the amount of mg's?

Yes. 150 mg of iron in each capsule.

Is this the same as Nu Iron? That is what my dr recommends and this seems to be the same yet so much cheaper.

I've never taken NuIron so I'm not sure as to the similarities. I take this per the recommendation of my Dr. and my dietian. ferrex is easier on the digestive tract and has greater bioavailability than ferrous sulphate.
