Pretty inexpensive for the flexibility of being able to put a camera in a hard to reach spot for a long live production. Compatible with Sony cameras without any issue, the power supply runs for as long as you need it (5 hours for me without any heat issues) it is sort of fragile so be sure not to kink the cord.

Works perfectly with my Sony a7siii. No issue at all. Except sometimes the camera battery percentage decreases but takes forever to go to 0 then if you stop recording or turn on and off it goes to 100%. Doesn’t affect my use any way.

Using my Sony A7r iii as a webcam for a premium work conferencing video experience. This camera won’t charge the battery while in use so this product takes the place of the battery and makes the camera think it has an infinite power supply. On my camera the battery door detaches to support a battery grip which for this use case allows the power supply wire to exit the body and hang freely. Great product. Highly recommend.

!!WARNING!! This dummy battery is not like many others. It fried my camera. Many other dummy batteries will take up to 30 Volts and regulate it to the 7.2v the camera needs on the dummy battery itself. This one REQUIRES the ac cord provided. Any other 12v dc power connected to this dummy battery at the 2.5mm connector will provide 12v to the camera and will fry your camera. Use with caution if you plan to use it with other DC power sources. I’ve used previous dummy batteries with 2.5mm connectors for my A7s and worked fine. This one sent my A7C to the manufacturer for (hopefully) repair.
