Both will make the process much easier and help you identify the correct constant and switched fuse locations instead of guessing. The kit includes multiple fuse tap styles, so I had everything I needed right in the box. Once I identified the correct fuses, the installation was straightforward and the dash cam has worked flawlessly ever since. If you've never hardwired a dash cam before, don't let it intimidate you. However, I needed to splice in my own longer wires because the included ones weren’t quite long enough for my vehicle. Its better to have too much wire, and have to cut some off or hide it away, then not enough.
