EPDM Primer would not be needed for that type of roofing. Bonding to your existing material will depend on which product you want to apply and whether the existing coating is water-based or solvenated. Very tacky, tip for recoat roof?

You can work in manageable sections or from the side off a ladder or scaffold. A popular method is to primer one half down the middle and work from the bare side. once you apply the first coat of RV coating and it dries, the surface will be tack free and you can walk on it to prime and coat the other half. Just leave a little primer exposed from the first half so you can marry to the other side.

How much would I need for a 40 foot goose neck camper? I am not sure the square footage?

For a 40 x 8 roof (320 sq ft) you will require about 1.5 gallons of primer and about 7 gallons of our Liquid Rubber RV Roof Coating. Be sure to measure seams and around vents and skylights and seal those areas with our Liquid Rubber Seam Tape, prior to primer and coating.
