Turns a 2010 21.5in Imac into a monitor
I had a 2010 iMac collecting dust. Gutted it and used this display board to turn it into a a spare monitor. Plug and play.

Worked perfectly with several different lcd panels
My use case may not be typical but this worked perfectly for me. I tear apart monitors to take out just the LCD panel itself - no backlight, just the bare panel. I use them to make "snowblind" panels for PC cases - basically, a semi-transparent screen that replaces the glass in a PC case. The inside of a monitor obviously contains the control & power boards that you need to make it work but they are usually large, clunky, use all sorts of different connectors, take 110V AC input and are generally very inconvenient to incorporate into a custom case. When I saw this I thought it might be the perfect replacement; 12V DC power, HDMI input, nice compact size, and the right connector to attach directly to the lcd panel. Turned out it worked perfectly. I was able to use it to drive panels taken from different models of Dell monitor and an Asus panel I had spare; it worked out of the box to drive them all. As expected, the size of the panel doesn't matter - it works on any physical size at 1080p resolution. It also has good cable lengths between the boards, giving flexibility in hiding it in a PC case, and is easy to connect to PC power & HDMI. Really happy to have found this. A great way to drive a 1080p panel (of any size).

Great option for repurposing old iMac panel
Worked great out of the box for repurposing the LCD from an old iMac! The only thing that could be better would be to have more control over what the OSD does - Iโm using for a project where itโd be nice to configure the OSD not to show on power up. Also itโd be really nice if there was some documentation with it.
