Really high quality paints
I have wanted this set of watercolours for a long time, and a recent financial windfall gave me the money to do so. Some artists I follow on youtube have shown and reviewed this set and I finally was able to purchase it myself. It comes in a lovely coloured sturdy two part box and the set is wrapped in a cloth inside which matches the colour of the box.It has all the colour information and a swatching card that folds out into three panels. The paint wrappers have the pigment information on them colour names etc. The paints themselves come in really filed half pans and re-wet immediately. The colours are highly pigmented and the range of the colours in this 48 set is a good one. They layer baeutifully and glaze well too. They can be lifted. and they are great for colour mixing. It's not a stanadrd selection of 48 colours which is what I liked about it it has a more unsual set of colours which actually work better for me. They are great too for mixed media work as well. The tin they come in is really sturdy and has two fold out mixing areas. There is a good selction of blues and reds and greens in this set. The colours are really vibrant and retain this vibrancy when dried. They also create really lovely washes too. For a good set to paint with this is a great set and the price is reasonable and affordable. Many sites also sell the pans open stock so you can replace colours ypu use up. They also work surprisngly well on black paper and toned papers too. Ligt enough to travel with or to use at home in the studio. So happy I finally got this set of 48 and I know I will enjoy painting with these. You wil not be dissappointed with the quality of these paints at all

Vibrant and rich 🤩🤩🤩👍🏼🥰
Here’s a refined version of your review: As an acrylic and mixed media artist, I recently decided to explore watercolors for sketching and was on the hunt for a high-quality, reasonably priced set. I came across Paul Rubens’ Metallic Watercolors, and I have to say, they exceeded my expectations. The colors are incredibly vibrant, and many shades are formulated with single pigments, which results in rich, luminous hues that layer beautifully. The paints have a smooth, creamy consistency, making them easy to blend and apply. The packaging is thoughtfully designed. Inside, there’s a handy swatch chart where you can paint samples of each color, which is a nice touch for quickly identifying shades. However, one small downside is that the labeling is only in Chinese. It would be more user-friendly if the information were available in English as well, especially for those unfamiliar with the language. Overall, Paul Rubens’ Metallic Watercolors offer fantastic quality at a great value. Whether you’re a beginner exploring watercolors or a seasoned artist looking for a bit of shimmer in your work, this set is definitely worth trying.

Beautifully presented vibrant watercolours
The paints arrived in a lovely sturdy pink box. On opening the pink metal tin was wrapped in a lovely pink branded cloth. The tin itself has a metal ring underneath to enable you to securely hold it when painting. The paint labels peel off easily. A labeled watercolour chart is included for you to swatch the paints. The paint labels are in Chinese and include a number which identifies the colour on the swatch chart plus in very small writing at the bottom of each label is the colour name in English (it's easy to miss but it is there and you can write the English label on the swatch card by matching the colour numbers). The individual pans are fairly easy to remove and reinsert. If you take the metal insert with the pans in out of the tin then you reveal a third sectioned area to use as a mixing palette which is a real bonus in addition to the two other mixing areas. The white coating acts a lot like enamel making the mixing and wash making much better than using a plastic palette. The set contains 48 individual colours offering a wide range of starting colours and the ability to create a huge variety of mixes. The Paynes Grey is blue shade but with all the colours included in the palette you'll be able to use different recipes to create a variety of greys as you need them. The colours are deep and vibrant and activate really easily. I was given this set as a present and it's my first artist grade set and I couldn't be happier.

Good to use on top of other paints to add shimmer
I have been a watercolour artist for over 15 years but these are the first metallic watercolours Iv tried. Over all I’m pretty happy with them. The paint pans are a nice size and filled to the brim, they are a nice hard paint but do need a little coaxing to get a decent amount of pigment on the brush. As far as I can tell the metallic shimmer does go all the way through the paint unlike some Iv seen reviews for that have said it was just sat on top and needed mixing in. Really lovely range of colours, I preferred the lighter frosty tones which surprised me. I found the darker colours a bit wishy washy and had to do around three layers to get any decent colour pigment to stick to the paper, it kept just washing off as I tried to add more layers. They look a million times better when the paint has dried on the page! I was a bit disappointed when I first gave them a go (as they we’re still wet) and the metallic pigment seemed to disappear. But when the were dry it looked very shimmery and magical. They are very translucent, I gave them 4 stars for this reason, as you really do need to use them on top of ordinary watercolours or another medium to add shimmer rather than using them directly as a pigment them selves- in my opinion. But they are good quality and look very nice when added on top of a painting to add a bit of extra dimension. I do feel they were a bit over priced at almost £50 as they are really better for accompanying other paints. But I wouldn’t send them back so I guess in the end I’m happy enough with them. Iv added some photos of colour swatches and a transparency indicator using a HB pencil mark then painting over the top of it with two layers of paint to show what I mean. As far as the seller I have no problems at all. I got them the next day after ordering and it was a few days after Christmas that I ordered so perfect and no complaints at all.

Meravigliosi

Palette 48 godets Paul Rubens
