PL-200SC-S, Non-Marring Soft Jaw Slip Joint Pliers, Replaceable Jaw Pads, 8-Inch

I’m really impressed with these Tsunoda resin soft jaw pliers. The jaws are advertised as “soft,” but they’re actually a hard plastic/resin feel rather than rubbery. Personally, I prefer this — they don’t feel spongy or cheap, and they still protect surfaces while giving a very positive grip. The joint is tight with zero flex or play, which makes them feel precise and well-made. The spring-loaded handles are also a nice touch, making repetitive work comfortable and smooth. Overall, they feel like a quality Japanese tool that should hold up for a long time. If you’re expecting rubber jaws, these aren’t that — but if you want firm, non-marring jaws with excellent build quality and smooth action, these are excellent. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a small pair of soft jaws to take around with me in my EDC stuff and these are pretty good! No issues and the spring action actually makes them even better!

use it to take apart my airbrush. solid quality

I got these for my airbrush. It doesn’t work like I’d like it to, The jaws are a hard type of plastic and not very grippy. It struggles to hold polished metal. If you get them you’ll still need to find something a bit softer to go over the jaws for a better grip. Good for other stuff I guess but not for my intended purpose. The packing is written in Japanese. I have no idea what it means but It looks really cool. This is probably what I like most about this item.

Super useful to get a nice grib on something without worrying about scratching it.

I don’t know much about the brand but decided to give them a try. I wanted some general purpose pliers that won’t scratch surfaces like door handles, appliance parts etc. and these work great so far! The plastic protective grip isn’t entirely plastic. It has some malleability and rubbery grip. The hinge is spring loaded which is nice too. They are very slim and lightweight despite being fairly long (over 8” for this model). The price was reasonable and the joint is adjustable so I think they’re overall a very good value! I added some detailed photos so you can see the materials a little better. The only downside is the packaging is in Japanese but there’s a trick - take a pic of the packaging then highlight the text in the photos app. Copy and paste the text into google translate and bam! Google will tell you what it says!

Great set of pliers. Feels sturdy, looks aesthetic (subjective). I don’t remember seeing the spring loaded feature in the description. That was a nice surprise. Packaging was decent. Handles were dirty but Can’t complain for the price (11 USD at the time of writing) 2 things I didn’t like: 1. It was advertised in blue but what I got was yellow. 2. I’m 50/50 on this one only time will tell, but I’ve included a picture which is the result of pliers first use. It was an electrical connector on a 30 year old car. The connector came off great but so did the plastic teeth on the pliers. So the magic question….is it a feature designed to release tough connectors without hurting them…or ?

These fit around what I needed them for, a faucet piece part metal, part rubber, and I tried everything but they had absolutely no grip to them. What did I miss here?

Good tool and soft and gentle on my delicate airbrush

Excellent build quality

Never knew how much I needed these pliers. Great for getting a grip on aluminum or wood without scratching them. I bought them for removing sockets from arrows, but they've been frequently used for other things since I got them. Having replaceable jaws is a great design.
