For those who have kept this headset, has the cord become less stiff and has the sound transmitted from the cord movement decreased with usage?

No, it stays pretty much the same. It straightens out a bit after a while, but the stiffness and cord sound never really change. The stiffness actually causes the headphones to break very easily. The wire inside the plastic frays and it causes the sound to stop. I've owned three pairs, and each one has broken in the exact same way.

what is the warranty for this item?

I am not sure, but I can say unlike most other headsets I bought this one is still working well. I drop them on the floor, or get caught up in the cord leading to the USB port all the time. I know the warranty was at least 90 days and possibly a year.

If you are asking about cord length, you may need a longer cord. Unlike the 99 in. (over 8 foot) cord on my old H390, the cord on the H540 will NOT reach a computer if you are leaning back on a bed when the computer surface is any passable distance from the end of the bed. No stack of pillows behind the back was enough to compensate for the short length. I had to return it.
