Mushroom Farming or Experimental Biology — The Jury Is Still Out
The Foragers Table Mushroom Growing Kit arrived looking very promising. A mighty 1-metre log of fungal ambition, clearly aimed at turning ordinary people into woodland foragers without the inconvenience of leaving the house. Instructions were refreshingly simple. Spray it, keep it damp, wait patiently while nature performs its quiet magic. Straightforward enough that even a hobbyist (or an overly optimistic beginner like me) can follow along. So far, the log has certainly grown things. Whether those things are the mushrooms pictured on the box or the early stages of a new civilisation of mould remains… under review. To be fair, mould is technically still fungus, so in a very broad scientific sense the kit is delivering on its promise. The ecosystem currently developing on this log is impressive. There are textures. There are colours. There is definitely life. The real question now is phase two: will this eventually produce something recognisably edible, or have I accidentally started a small-scale laboratory experiment in my kitchen? Time will tell. For now, I’m watering it, observing it, and treating it with the cautious respect normally reserved for mysterious objects discovered in the back of the fridge.

Well worth it
Gave this to a friend at Christmas. Now nearly May and still producing Mushrooms. What a good value item 10/10

Hope the dog doesn't eat them.
Look like heath stuff. I've put it on some straw in a bag hanging. Last time my saluki dog licked it all the spore, we didn't have any last year.

To be clear this is atwo part delivery. Part one is the plastic bits and a voucher. As yet I don't have part two which is the actual mushroom log.

Haven't used yet as it was a Xmas gift, but when it arrived the box is very small so I've had to buy more stuff to bulk out the gift
