Wicked (DVD)

This is the best movie I have seen in the last two years. It is colorful, the singing is spectacular (as well as the dancing), and I love the twist on the original story of the Wizard of Oz. My sister-in-law was afraid to watch it because the title is "Wicked", but there is nothing wicked about this film except how it is wickedly funny, memorable, and full of talent.

My expectations for this highly anticipated movie were hopefully cautious. I honestly wasn’t sure about Ariana Grande as Glinda and didn’t know anything about Cynthia Erivo, but I love the musical, so I was hopeful. I was AMAZED!! Absolutely loved the movie at the pre-release showing and laughed hard, cried even harder and just loved the music!! Honestly as a singer and lover of musicals I was concerned about changing these incredible songs too much, but the changes were minimal enough that they complimented the pieces rather than overshadow them. Ariana & Cynthia were both fantastic and completely deserving of their Oscar nominations. I was happily mistaken by my Ariana caution and am now a big Cynthia Erivo fan. After viewing the early showing I immediately pre-purchased the soundtrack and then this disc as soon as it was available. I saw the movie in the theater 3 times (which I’ve NEVER done with a movie before), but this movie had me going back to a imax super sound system theater and then again for a sing along version. So much fun! The movie is also so incredibly powerful in its timing aligned to world/national politics and the dangerously growing trend of people ‘othering’ people they perceive as different than them. Hating, belittling, and bullying people that are different from oneself is wrong and only creates pain and anguish…for everyone. Propaganda is incredibly effective and can ruin communities, countries, economies and individual lives. The show only strengthened my resolve to critically think about concepts, theories, people and all info before I believe it. The extras in this hard copy disc are so much fun and I’ve watched them all. So glad I bought the hard copy (something I’ve not done for years). Excited for Wicked: For Good coming out in November! So while writing this I’ve got a playlist on with favorite songs and now I’m ’Dancing Through Life’ & ‘Defying Gravity’!

Very nice steelbook edition. It was hard to find for a while, so I’m glad it was reissued. The movie looks great in 4K and the bonus content is also high quality. A solid release for fans.

This is a great movie. Because it made me think back when I was a child. That dreams can come true don’t let know one take or stand in your way. I am looking forward to Wicked part Two. I don’t know how to share video

loved this movie It took ever to get it

This movie was pretty hyped for the past few months and the price finally came down on Amazon to a level I was willing to pay. The movie itself was OK. The sets, costumes, and CG were spectacular. The singing was so-so. The blonde's pitch was so high, I could not understand anything she was singing. I had to turn on subtitles to get a sense of what was going on. The quality of the 4K disk was disappointing. At the scene where the monkeys sprouted wings, the disk glitched a few times then froze solid and would not proceed for love nor money. Frustrated, I popped out the 4K disk and inserted the blue ray disk, jumped to the monkey scene and finished watching the movie. I am beginning to suspect we have been sold a lemon with the whole 4K TV, player, and disks boondoggle. I will stick to blue ray from now on and not waste any more money on 4K. A 4K disk should not become rotted so quickly.

Trust me, even if you’re a die-hard action fan, you’ll find something to love in "Wicked." It’s a magical journey that’s definitely worth taking.

I actually ordered the wrong movie wanted the 2nd movie Wicked for good. Side note never order when you are half asleep lol. We already had this movie but we are gifting the other same movie to a friend.

Me llego en buen estado y dentro de la fecha de entrega, y cuenta a su vez con lenguaje y subtitulos en español.
