How do you know how much water to put in or how long for steaming veg as each veg is different? Does it beep if all the water is used?

For steaming vegetables, our guidance is to fill the inner pot with water r up to at least the 0.5 L line (measurements are marked in the inner bowl). Then using the STEAM function and adjust the timer accordingly. For vegetables that take longer to steam such as potatoes or artichoke (that could take 15-25 minutes), add more water if needed.

put duck legs and veg in for slow cook 3hrs but carrots still hard so did on high slow cook (so 5hrs total) and carrots still not cooked?

Have you tried putting the vegetables in the bottom of the slow cooker? Vegetables takes longer to cook then meat, so if you keep them at the bottom it should work

Can you fry in it? If not, can you brush things with oil and cook them in there, like somasas?

I fry sausages and burgers you can change the time for frying I've had on for 30 mins
