Upgrade from Toughbuilt an no-name
Before I go any farther, I want to point out that I use these as a scraper more than a knife. In the past I have purchased (and still own) the Toughbuilt utility knife/scraper, a no-name generic one very similar to this one, as well as this Komelon. The Komelon is by far my favorite, and this is why: The toughbuilt is BIG. Even when retracted, it is quite long. Width and thickness aren't that bad, but it is too long to be comfortably pocketable, it is more a tool belt type of tool. The Komelon folds down to a size about the same width and thickness as my folding Dewalt utility knife, but is about a half inch longer. Length is very similar to a Milwaukee Fastback, but it is thicker/bulker due to the mechanism that lets the blade pivot and the spare blade storage slot. The Toughbuilt also has a feature where you use the blade extension button to pivot the blade from cutting to scraping position. The problem is that the mechanism gums up from time to time and needs to be cleaned/oiled. The Komelon works by pressing a release, and manually pivoting the blade. This lets the tool be smaller physically, and while gunk still gets in the mechanism, you can just pull harder on the pivot and overcome it and not have to stop working to clean/oil it so it still works. Also, the blade flips open/shut under its own weight, like the Fastback. Overall, this is a competent folding utility knife, and an excellent scraper. I do mechanic work, and this has fast become my favorite gasket/grease scraper. The handle is comfortable enough, it opens and swivels to scraper position in a couple seconds, and most of all it uses cheap disposable utility knife blades so you always can have a sharp edge. The blade has a notch cut out of the center to hold it in place in addition to the little notches on the edge like most utility blades. So far that notch hasn't seemed to weaken the blade at all, but this knife requires the blades with the extra notch in the middle to stay solidly in place while scraping. Fortunately, the Komelon blades work perfectly in my other utility knives, so I don't need to have 2 styles of blades. The Komelon and Toughbuilt blades work in each other's knives, as well. Lastly, lift a cap and you have storage for 2 additional blades, something the Toughbuilt is lacking.

Love this knife, but there is a catch
I absolutely love this utility knife, the ability to use it as a traditional utility knife as well as a scraper is fantastic. It is well built and the mechanism for converting it hasn’t failed or given me any concerns that it may. The catch though is that this uses a proprietary blade so it locks in place. I missed that fact when I first purchased it, would have wished they would have been able to accept regular blades. So that said, make sure you buy extra blades.

Too good to be true
I had this for a month and already the blade doesn't lock in no more probably better maybe for light work like home diy NOT for heavy duty work

Does Not Use Standard Utility Blades
Knife is well designed and serves its purpose. However, it does not use standard utility blades. It requires a special proprietary blade with a hole for the locking mechanism that is lower quality and 3x more expensive than the blades I normally use. That is why I gave it a poor rating. Klein Tools 44306 is a scraper that uses a standard blade.

Nice utility knife
I like this to open boxes up quickly. The blade is flexible and you can turn it to scrape off stickers off your car windshield easily too. I am really happy with my purchase.

Multifuncional!
I've seen other utility/scraper knives but this one is built quite well. It opens flawlessly and has 3 locking positions which can allow it to perform several tasks. Switching from utility knife to scraper is fairly easy. Pushing a button down allows the blade swivel and lock into position. While locked in this position the knife cannot close which is great for scraping paint from windows which is what I primarily use it for. The only non-metal part is the blade storage cover, otherwise the construction is all metal. The belt clip is quite sturdy. Overall I'm quite pleased with my purchase.
