good for cutting calories while satisfying sugary soda fix
Love it. Has caffeine and some sugar plus sucralose. Almost as good as the real sugary pepsi but at 30% of the calories. I did have 1 bottle that sat unopened for a few years, and I think the synthetic sugar in it broke down (as it tends to do) and the result tasted off. When making it "fresh", its fine. So I would say to use this product right away and don't let it sit too long, like most diet products

Amazing Flavor and a Money Saver!
These SodaStream Pepsi Beverage Mixes are an absolute game-changer! Being able to make my own Pepsi at home is not only convenient but also saves me a ton of moneyโI no longer have to keep buying packs or two-liters every few weeks. When they were temporarily unavailable on Amazon, I was genuinely disappointed and even stocked up from other retailers just in case. Iโm so glad theyโre back and now a regular part of my subscription. A heads-up: the flavor is noticeably sweeter than regular Pepsi, likely due to the sweeteners instead of corn syrup, but I actually prefer it this way. If you love Pepsi and own a SodaStream, these are a must-have!

New container design and price change
I've bought the pepsi four pack for SodaStream on three different occasions here in the past year. It came in a wide mouth bottle with a big lid. The directions were to fill up syrup to a line on the cap and pour in glass. When you put the cap on afterwards, extra syrup would run down the side of the bottle. Even if you didn't fill the cap, the lid would still capture syrup from the inner neck and result in syrup on the outside of the bottle. I repurposed a syrup bottle and would transfer the Pepsi syrup to the glass syrup bottle and pour from that. So I 100% understand and agree that the wide mouthed bottles were not designed well. I'd have syrup under the bottle all the time, it was a mess. But the syrup was great, tasted like Pepsi but with less calories, sort of a hybrid calorie wise between regular and diet, but the taste more of regular. (Apparently it uses sucralose (splenda) to partially replace the sugar for some reason connected to shipping and density of the product. Last time I purchased the 4 pack it was $18. Fast forward to last month. I went to reorder, and the price was now $28 for 4! And the bottles had been redesigned. They now look like regular Pepsi bottles, no longer wide mouth. I tried to order the old style at the old price, but they sent me the new style bottle. The new style of bottle looks so much like a regular drinking Pepsi bottle that I had to tell my kids not to drink it directly, that it was syrup for the sodastream. It does say sodastream on it but otherwise it is the size of a small bottle of Pepsi and the label matches the drinking Pepsi. Although the ingredient list is identical to the old wide mouthed bottle, and the nutritional info is the same, it does not seem identical. I noticed it was more watery and requires about twice as much syrup as I used to use. I thought I was imagining it but others in my household commented the same, that it is not as sweet as the old syrup. Unless the label nutrition info gets updated, I will assume that it's just seems different, but the syrup is being used faster as we are using more to get the same sweetness that we remembered. I have seen comments of people who miss the old measuring lid but I think the redesign is much better. I don't have to transfer to a different bottle to prevent syrup all over the counter. However, the new stuff seems less sweet AND it costs $10 more ($28) than the old wide mouthed 4-pack. The net contents remain unchanged, so it's about a 60% price increase, here and elsewhere. I am giving 4 stars as the old style lid was a mess but the new formula or constency seems different.

Great deal for soda lovers. We love using our soda stream and getting a deal on bulk was awesome. Easy to measure and add to your carbonated water.

Yuck, artificial sweetener but I didn't want "Diet Pepsi"
The first thing I noticed after mixing this according to the instructions was to grab the bottle and take a second look. I was certain I had ordered regular Pepsi -- Not Diet Pepsi. And, I was right, it didn't say "Diet Pepsi", yet why did it have that weird aftertaste like diet sweeteners that almost makes your eyeballs hurt? Sure enough, after I looked at the ingredients, I found the culprit: SUCRALOSE -- why, why, why? I've been to restaurants and ordered a fountain Pepsi that had the same flavor a few times. Not all the time, but every once in a while, I get one where I have to send it back. You can usually tell by the amount of foamy/fizzy -- Diet Pepsi foams *much* less than regular, which causes it to look darker in the cup. My guess is that some cheaper formula syrup is marketed by Pepsi for those places because it's just cheaper to produce with replacing some of the sugar with Sucralose -- and I'm also guessing that just enough people don't notice it or care about the artificial taste that they can get away with it. Depending on the specific drink or food, I might not notice it as much, but I can definitely taste it in Pepsi -- because I know what to expect and getting that bitter-sweet smack in the face that I get from the Sucralose makes it that much worse because I taste it with *every* sip, and cringe. I tried adding sugar and some light corn-syrup to mask the annoying Sucralose taste, but it's still there -- so that didn't mask it. I had read that adding salt to coffee will reduce the bitterness -- and that does work for coffee. But the Sucralose isn't so much a bitter taste as an acrid or "false" taste sensation that I can detect. Because I had bought the 4-pack and didn't want to waste it, I tried adding all of these: Torani Cinnamon Syrup Lemon Juice Cherry flavoring Salt Torani Salted Caramel Syrup - (the worst, btw). Nothing worked to offset the taste. There aren't any other Pepsi-brand options that are made for the smaller home soda-machines, unless you want to by a 3-gallon box of syrup for about $150 that is made for restaurants and way overpriced I'm almost tempted to buy it, but then what if it's the same nasty sucralose formula as this product? I'd be out $150 and have 3 gallons of syrup to dump. The bottle says "Special Soda Stream only formula" -- which means "We cut corners on this to save a few bucks and cut down on the shipping weight." This is a terrible excuse for the regular Pepsi formula. If you like Diet Pepsi, then this might work, but then you'd still have the sugar. If you don't have sensitive taste-buds, then maybe this would be okay for you. But if you don't like the nasty aftertaste of Sucralose (Splenda-brand-name), then stay away from this. There are others that might not be exactly Pepsi, but Pepsi-with-Splenda is worse than any other cola that doesn't use artificial sweeteners. So, lesson learned. I'll be checking the ingredients when I buy pre-made syrups. Don't get me wrong, I really like Pepsi with sugar and even with the high-fructose-corn-syrup. I don't like Diet Pepsi -- even though I have friends who say, "You get used to it." -- buy why? Why would I want to do that when the real stuff exists for the same price? Overall, only one-star because zero-stars are not possible.

Tastes great!
These work great with my Sodastream machine - I think its a good value for the money and the taste is great. Be careful though, I have ordered several times from here and have had to double check the boxes, twice in two different deliveries there has been one bottle missing from an almost fully sealed box. I contact Amazon immediately and they have taken care of the issue.

Homemade Pepsi at last
For the most part, I haven't been that impressed by the SodaStream brand or clone flavors. There always seemed to be something off about them. I mostly use the SS for my own flavored seltzer or the Sodastream Grapefruit. I got the Pepsi 4-pack on sale from Amazon and after a little experimentation, I got the mix down right. It makes an authentic tasting Pepsi with somewhat lower calories since it is a mixture of sugar (yeah, real sugar) and sucralose rather than the HFCS that you get at the store. It is a little less sweet than what you get at the store but that's perfectly fine with me since it highlights the flavor more.

Mine seemed off. A bit sour or something. Maybe not stored well?
I ordered these because it was the most cost effective option closest to what I normally get (the Dr. Pete flavor being my favorite) since it had a really good price for a four pack of these. Dr. Pepper is ok and I do kind of like it in general, but these seem a bit off. There is a sort of sharpness to the smell and the taste is just a tiny bit off. It's still drinkable and it's not making me sick or anything, but it definitely does not taste at all like a real Pepsi. And I don't mean that I have too much or not enough as it tastes off, not weak or strong. A slight hint of a sourness or something. Still kind of ok if cold enough -- not actually bad -- but only just barely ok-ish, not actually good. It is possible that these were just stored badly or something. Too much heat perhaps? That certainly has been an issue this year. Unfortunately, this is a four pack, so even if I was inclined to keep buying more to try I wouldn't be doing so for a while (hopefully I can get more Dr. Pete by then though instead.) Still, I consider this to be an accurate thing to bear in mind even if so because that means it's going to be like this in many batches.
