Tackle any terrain in the trail 410v4. Built with rugged materials, breathable mesh, an act eva midsole and all terrain tread, this product is the perfect balance of durability and cushioning. New Balance, is dedicated to helping athletes achieve their goals. It's been their mission for more than a century. It's why they don't spend money on celebrity endorsements. They spend it on research and development. It's why they don't design products to fit an image. They design them to fit. New Balance is driven to make the finest shoes for the same reason athletes lace them up: to achieve the very best. Review: Very comfortable fit and feel - I took a chance on these based on the desertcart reviews. I never bought a pair of running shoes online before because the fit of running shoes is usually highly variable and I have to try on a half-dozen pair in the store before I find one I like. I usually take a size 10.5 M but I've found that running shoes are almost always sized too small. I've owned some Nike shoes in size 12.0 to get a correct fit! I ordered these in size 11.0 just to be sure, because I like a touch of extra room in the toes, I hate it when my toes touch the front of the shoes and these have a slightly pointed toe box. I figured I would take advantage of the free exchange if they didn't fit. I was surprised to find that not only do these fit me perfectly -- just a touch of extra room in the toes -- but they're also the most comfortable and nicely padded (on the soles) running shoes I've ever owned. They're very nicely made and they have lots of cushioning, especially under the ball of the foot, where a lot of running shoes have issues. The fit is more or less "neutral", yet the shoes have good support. I had a couple of pair of New Balance 510 in the past that I liked (I'm not sure what the difference is in all the numbers) but these are even better. So, I'm really pleased, they fit just like I wanted and they're really comfortable. In fact, I may order another pair just to have in the closet in case they discontinue these! Review: Good fitting and comfortable with good support. - I like the fit in the wide shoes and they hold up for about 2 years under heavier than normal wear.

Great shoe, if you order bigger size
This is an excellent-for-the-price New Balance-quality shoe, but I already have the same shoe in a different color. The old pair is long enough (sufficient toe room), but narrow and tight, even difficult to don. I ordered these intending to go a half-size bigger. I read the reviews and saw someone recommend a whole size bigger. I went with a half-size bigger. The shoe fits way better and will work for me, but I wish I'd taken the chance and gone a whole size bigger. I think it would have been even better. So, it's a 5-star shoe for the price, but I went with four stars because the sizing is off.

Cheap all around
Original Review: Cheap. If you're looking for the quality shoe expected from NB, this isn't it. The soles are of a cheap lightweight rubber composite which squeak on floors. The outer layers are mostly a cheap plastic-based material. Overall, with daily use, I don't expect that the shoes will last more than a couple of months. Even the shoe strings are so flimsy that they'll likely break in short order. There are no reinforcement for the eyelets, so those who like a tight shoe will eventually break through the top holes. These shoes seem like something one would find on a hanger in a big box retailer for $19. Hopefully this is more of a 'low end' model problem and not for all NB models now, otherwise it's time to find a new brand to follow. Updated: 03/23/2019 I have to improve my rating from my original review. Many months later now, the shoes have continued to hold up. There is some slight stitching problems at the pivot point where the toes are, but aside from that slight problem, the sole, and all other aspects of the shoe have held up. I'm updating my rating to 4-stars from 1-star to reflect this change in overview. Updated: 01/02/2020 I have to say that I'm overly impressed about these sneakers; updating my rating from 4 to 5 stars. It just goes to show that a first impression isn't always the right impression. Yes, they felt cheaply made and lightweight, but they've held up. I'm now around a year of daily wear and the soles are just starting to wear down, but not yet to the foam bottom. Overall, I'd order these ones again (and will) as they've held up much better than expected.

Comfortable, simple sneakers
I bought these for casual work wear. I work in a jeans and polo shirt sort of environment with a standing desk. These work great for that environment. The dark gray color doesn't scream "I'M WEARING SNEAKERS" like white or brightly colored running shoes do and they're a little more flexible in what they can be paired with than black sneakers would be. Fit wise, I wear a 12.5 and ordered a 13. These are easy to slip on, comfortable with both thin athletic socks and thick wool socks. The midsole is squishy so my feet don't hurt after a day of tromping around to meetings and a few hours at the standing desk. One final note. As a long time runner, I would not recommend these as serious running shoes. They're ok for the occasional jog and the carbon rubber outsole should hold up well, but the midsole is pretty basic. They don't have much in the way of arch support and no real stability features. If you plan to do more than the occasional treadmill run, I'd look for something a little more technical. I'll consider ordering another pair of these when this pair wears out.

Good shoes, you need to size up!
They are clearly undersized as has been mentioned quite a few times. You need to order at least 1/2 size larger than your largest shoes even if they are previous New Balance. I normally take 101/2 to occasionally an 11. I received the 11, and they were too small. Returned them for 11 1/2 and the size fits perfectly. The shoe itself has been great, although I cannot comment on durability because I have only worn them several weeks. They are heavier than many NBโs but much more supportive especially if you need pronation support. The shoe combined with an good arch support insert works well. Very comfortable. Very satisfied. Amazon return process was excellent with very pleasant and helpful service managers.

These NB's surpirsed me! And they fit!
Since NIKE cannot help but trip over themselves and give in to ridiculous politics and media pressure, I have decided to look onward for a new shoe brand. I was hesitant to go back to New Balance due to their historically lackluster styling BUT I have noticed a bit of a change going on with their lines. They always offer shoes in the wide sizes so when I saw this particular style in my size I decided to give it a shot! They fit GREAT right out of the box (sz14 4E) and I'm even happy with the styling. This is a great shoe at a great price!!! Added benefit of knowing my money is not going to support Kaepernik and the like.

A shoe that leaves you wanting a little more.
First impressions are its a fairly good quality shoe in this price range. Looking a bit closer you begin to see where the corners were cut. As I was lacing them up, some of the stitching in the tongue New Balance logo tag started unraveling. Not a deal breaker but I hope it isn't an indicator of things to come. Stitching in the rest of the shoes seems okay but the materials feel rather cheap. If you are buying these for a walking or daily use shoe I would suggest something else. This was the intended use I was planning on but the cushioning on these seems fairly firm for my taste. Considering these are sold as a "Trail Runner" a tough material resistant to heavy shock would make sense to protect the foot while running in those conditions but it doesn't make for a comfy walker. I'm a bigger guy (6'3 240lb) so maybe that would have more to do with it. I've had old work boots with better cushioning in the ball areas of your foot so I'm not sure this shoe would work long as a trail runner before something broke (Hopefully the shoe and not your foot) . You could maybe buy some good insoles but lets be real. Why spend another $20 for insoles in a $40 pair of shoes? Just buy something better out of the gate. I've read that New Balance shoe sizing is "true" but I'd have to say these run a tad small. So, if you think you are in the 1/2 sizes definitely, 100%, absolutely, no doubt about it, ORDER ONE SIZE UP. I will try to update this as I put the miles on them but just from my first impression and initial walking around - I'm doubting I will be get too far before having some issues.

Felt like 3E rather than 4E
Bought this because was looking for 4E extra wide fitting after finding model 624 no longer come up to standard of quality (in the leather). This model 410 doesn't feel as wide as the model 624 4E extra wide fit but am hoping the fabric more than the leather upper of the 624. Too soon to tell how good this shoe is.

Perfect Fit Hubby Loves Them!
These are really good quality and lasted my hubby a whole year (usually trashes shoes in a few months). They fit great and the colour went with everything. Definately would buy again.
