I bought this 2-pack of SIMREX walkie-talkies for a weekend of camping and backyard adventures, and they pleasantly exceeded my expectations. Right out of the box they were easy to use: the one-touch “push to talk” button is intuitive for kids and the key-lock feature means they can’t accidentally change channels mid-game. The sound is clear, the HD audio feature really makes a difference when the kids are calling from across the yard or while exploring. They’re lightweight and ergonomically designed for little hands, which means no complaints about devices being too bulky or heavy. We used them outdoors, and though the “long range” term can be generous, they held up well across our yard and into nearby trees. My children loved running around and signalling to each other (“base station” to “field agent”), pure fun and no hassles. A few things to note: they require 3 AAA batteries each, so this is something to plan for (I’d recommend keeping spares). They’re not waterproof, so if you’re planning serious hiking/rainy conditions you’ll want to be careful with storage. Also, while the range is decent for a toy/intercom style device, it’s not going to match premium hobby‐walkie models used for serious outdoor expeditions. But for what they’re designed for, kids’ play, camping, backyard missions, they do exactly what they promise. If you’re looking for a fun, reliable way to keep kids connected and entertained during outdoor play, these walkie-talkies are a solid pick.

I got these for for my 5 and 7-year-old kids, and they’ve been having an absolute blast with them. In terms of range, it’s solid for indoor use and short-distance outdoor play. While these are perfect for indoor and fun outdoor use, I wouldn’t rely on them for anything more serious, like coordinating a caravan or long-distance communication. The Simrex WK-70 Walkie Talkies are absolutely fantastic! I bought these for my kids, and they’ve been a huge hit. The SIMREX WK-07 walkie talkies work really well. The sound is clear even at long range. They are perfect for playing around the house or yard. My daughter loves using them and has had a lot of fun already. They are easy even for kids, and seem to be built pretty sturdy. Great for parent child games or just keeping in touch while playing. Highly recommend!

One of the walkie talkies wouldn’t turn on with new batteries out of the box. The terminals seem loose. I missed the return window or they would have been returned.

It’s a very easy affordable first toy Walkie talkie for the kids! It helps that it doesn’t feel plastic and like a toy for the kids to enjoy. The sound is clear and we have used it while in different areas of the house. It has a call feature that is pretty cool, but both have to be on at the same time. We have been using it for a more now and the battery life seems sufficient as well. Overall, perfect for our use and us to play w our kids.

It is a nice, cheap set for younger kids. I don't expect them to last too long but nothing does when you give it to young boys :). It doesn't offer channel selection and is not the clearest voice, but it had a surprisingly good range. I think this is a great gift and my nephew loved them.

The walkie talkies work fine; however, I had to take screws out of one to reinstall a plastic piece that had not been installed properly and was bulging from the cover.
