Once set up, do you need to reconnect all devices, or does this happen automatically?

If you change your network name and password then yes, you will have to login as if it was a fresh connection. I think if you keep your original network name and password your devices may log back in automatically.
So glad I bought this, my WiFi and wired Internet throughout the house has been faultless since first day of installation 👍

What sort of power supply do these use (uk). are they just larger plugs, or a bigger brick attached to the cable? video only shows usa, thanks

A 3 pin plug that has a transformer on the back that kind of covers the two non earth pins on the plug (about 2cm high, 4 cm wide but protrudes a long way from the wall - about 9cm.
The plug has a fixed lead that terminates in a USB-C connector.

How do these connect with each other? poe ethernet or powerline?

They connect to each other via W-Fi the Ethernet connectors are for first unit to your router, the other Wi-Fi devices Ethernet's are used for say a printer or a desktop computer to connect to. They effectively backhaul your data wirelessley to create the mesh. This means you loose bandwidth as you extend you mesh out from the first node connected to your household router.

Can the google system replace the primary router or is it better/easier to connect to it ?

Accepted Answer

Firstly, remember that the box your ISP provides is both a modem and a router.  The modem function supports the broadband connection; the router function provides both wired and wireless access in your house.   Google WiFi only replaces the router function, not the modem function.  On installation of the primary puck, it will ask you if you want to disable the WiFi function on your ISP provided box.  I suggest YES because any devices on your router ethernet ports or WiFi will NOT be visible to any devices on your Google routers.  (You can make it work, but you need to be very skilled at IP routing protocols, DHCP, DNS, etc).  Example:  If you leave your NAS plugged into the ISP provided router, then none of the devices on the 'google network' will be able to see it. 
 You should only  plug the primary google router into your existing box.   If you require a lot of wired connections, then buy a switch and connect that into the ethernet port on any of the google pucks.
