Watercolour Rainbow DVD with Hazel Soan

I cannot rate this DVD highly enough. I remember Hazel Soan from her appearances years ago on Watercolour Challenge, and have always loved her work. In this DVD, she explains the basics of colour theory, but the biggest bonus for me was explaining the properties of watercolours, particularly the difference between transparent and opaque colours. I have been dabbling in watercolour for a few years now, and this has completely changed the way I paint. My paintings are now beginning to look as luminous as hers! Hazel Soan is an excellent teacher who explains everything clearly I got a copy of the accompanying book out of the library, which I will now buy. In it, she goes into much more detail about the properties and colours in watercolour, and there are many more examples of her wonderful paintings included. I will now look at buying some of her other DVDs and books. Excellent.

This has to be the best watercolour DVD I've seen - and I've seen a few! Haze Soan has been a favourite of mine ever since seeing her on watercolour challenge all those years ago. She is at her best on this DVD. You feel as if you are right in front of her and she is believing in what you are doing and you are understanding what she is wanting you to try. Note the 'wanting you to try' bit. She's not in the least dictatorial. She is encouraging and is offering the best of her skills. I thought the book that goes with this DVD was good well the DVD is really good too. Buy it - you won't be disappointed.

If watercolour painting is your thing buy this and hazels other books/DVDs her technical knowledge is second to none, you will without doubt learn from this DVD

This DVD was supposed to be 'like new'. However, it cuts out in places plus a whole chapter is missed out when the DVD is played. Very unsatisfactory.

Excellent video. Hazel Soan is a favourite of mine, her explanations are so easy to understand and the dvd is packed with loads of information on colour theory, techniques etc. second hand this dvd was in perfect condition.

Hazel Soan is amazing - I try to buy everything of hers I can get my hands on. This particular DVD is a masterful course in color for watercolor. I wish I had seen it earlier - it would have saved me a lot of trouble and also the expense of buying all sorts of colors I don't need! She has a book out on the same subject and Amazon has it. I highly recommend both.
