Tortilla Pancake Keeper

This was the most surprising purchase that I’ve ever made! I had been looking for a tour Tilla storage for a long time, and every time I looked at the picture of this one I kind of fostered by because it didn’t look very appealing. However, out of sheer desperation, I went ahead and bought this one because the price was very reasonable. However, I was most pleasantly surprised with this container. Though it’s very simply made, the rotis stay fresh and soft for a very long time. Interestingly, it is not airtight, but the tortillas do not harden, and I am very happy with this purchase that I have made. It also keeps the tortillas warm for a little while which is not a big concern but it is definitely a very good Storage for tortillas The size is very good too and fits the medium size tortillas very well. The handling it is also very easy because the size is such that it provides a good grip. This was a major consideration in my purchase as I keep my tortilla pot on top of the refrigerator. I need to bring it down every time . It is easy to clean and wash and seems very durable. I’ve had it for a very short time but so far everything is just excellent.

2023 Update: This pot/warmer has now lasted 14 years with no issues and no degradation in performance. It is still working like new. Great product! —- I purchased this tortilla/pancake keeper 7 years ago, and have never been disappointed by it. It performs as well today as it did the day I bought it. It is the best solution I have found for keeping food stuffs warm and moist. I regularly use mine for pancakes, waffles, french toast, grilled cheese, and anything else I need to keep warm and moist while the second batch is cooking. My favorite use, however, is when I'm grilling in the back yard during colder weather. I always take it out to the grill with me, and fill it with the piping hot burgers, brauts, chicken, hotdogs, shrimp, fish, and steaks. It is particularly effective at keeping the smaller pieces of meat warm while the larger ones finish cooking. It also excels at keeping the meat warm in cold winter temperatures, and while questing through the neighborhood when rounding the kids up for dinner. Regardless of what you put in it, it is never hot on the outside, and can be handled with bare hands. It is made of a thick, heavy plastic material and is very durable. I have dropped mine plenty of times on hard surfaces, both indoors and out, with no cracking, leaking, or damage of any sort. It has not discolored at all over the years. Mine has never had an odor of any kind. It is easy to clean, thanks to the smooth surface of the interior. The only limitation I have found is size: Large home-made tortillas may not fit within it laying flat. That said, if I need to keep mine warm, I just make them to fit! Highly recommended.

I read other reviews before purchasing this item. I have not used it yet so I cannot give it 5 stars but I can respond to other complaints. I did not notice any smell but hand washed it all the same. The size is larger than the standard plastic tortilla shell keepers you'd find in a Mexican restaurant which is fine with me as I intend to use it for other food items so the larger size is very nice. It feels sturdy and durable, but where some complained that it was not ceramic, I am actually pleased that it is not. It is much lighter than a ceramic model would be, which makes it easier to use and store. I also like that fact that it is dishwasher and microwave safe although because it is lightweight, hand washing is simple. I can't wait to use it this coming Sunday for our taco Packer football game party! I'll update on how well it actually works after the first use. Follow up: I used this for a large group and it was wonderful. Heated the tortilla shells in the keeper and they stayed warm for over an hour. Can't wait to use at Thanksgiving for warm rolls. Well worth the price. And very nice for storage as it isn't heavy but is made of a sturdy material.

I bought this product at the same time as I ordered my cast iron tortilla press, and it works just perfectly. It is large enough to hold quite a few tortillas (or pancakes) and keeps them nice and warm. There is nothing better for fajitas than fresh tortillas and this does the trick. We used to make tortillas from scratch using the old-fashioned rolling pin technique, keeping them warm in the oven--but they always got dried out on the edges. Now they remain fresh and perfect using this product. This size is nice, too, as it is big enough to stack quite a few items inside and you don't have to worry about making your tortillas "too big" as you might if you bought the smaller size. This is easy to clean, too...another plus!

Love this item. Keeps pancakes nice and hot from griddle to table. I’ve had one for years and have bought several to give away as gifts also. This is a must have for pancakes, tortillas or anything you want to keep warm.

This is a great size tortilla warmer for family of 5. Keep tortillas warm for a good while. Good value for your money great durability.

First let me say that I'm pleased with the purchase and it serves it's purpose. But a few things in addition to the fact that it keeps things warm and moist: It is BPA FREE (that's a good thing, but I still line it with parchment paper)... It is UGLY, reminds me of a dog dish (large dog food bowl)... It is LARGE, think dinner plate, or a stack of dinner plates for that matter. I use this primarily for home made tortillas and waffles, so the size is actually appropriate, but I just remember being taken aback when I first took it out of the box... Interior dish depth is about 3 3/4", overall dish height is about 5" including the domed lid (just barely over 4" without lid on), and about 10" across!... 2 QT bowl, says it keeps food hot or cold (I haven't tried the cold thing), microwave (for warming or reheating only, not for cooking) & dishwasher safe (top rack) ... and oh yes, it is MADE IN CHINA (wish it wasn't, but there you go).

We love it. We use it to keep meats warm after we take them off the grill.
