The winner in a side by side comparison
I got this and the Bully Grip Holder to compare. My 1yr 9mo Borzoi has been enjoying bully sticks responsibly since he was 9 weeks old and 19 lbs (ah the good old days of buying 12 inch sticks!). He's now almost 100 lbs and requires 36 inch bully sticks. I used to take away end pieces that were about 3-4 inches in length but after watching him carefully chew and consume some end stubs I was less concerned and allowed him to do so under supervision. I decided to try these products to see if they worked at all. This product is very easy to use and plenty roomy to insert the widest bully stick, even one frayed/flattened by already been started being chewed. There is no odor, it seems decently made, though I feel like if it's frigidly cold out I don't want my dog clunking it down on pavement or it could crack. It screws in securely, but as it's entirely plastic, I expect eventually it will wear/strip a bit, but so far we are many months in and it works great. The Bully Grip holder was impossible to insert a bully stick in that had already been started/chewed, even if I tried to freshen the end with scissors. It was an exhausting ordeal to try and fit the sticks in, but the size description matched the size/diameter sticks I'm using. I am unsure if a larger size is available and if it would be snug or loose but I definitely am not about to buy multiple sizes of them to try and get one that fits. The Bully Buddy is bigger/clunkier but weighs less than the Bully Grip. It doesn't feel as solid/well made and is plastic-y and not mean to get accidentally gnawed on like the Bully Grip probably could be, but it's so much easier to fit in ANY size bully stick and seems to hold them really secure. I always put both options out for my dog together and he ALWAYS went for this one first. In fact, he had gone through about 9 bully sticks in the Bully Buddy before I took it away and he eventually used up the one in the Bully Grip. The ease of use makes this one the winner for me. Please note, both will give you a bruise and an egg on your forehead if you dog is laying next to you on the couch and swings the device end at you.

Peace of mind worth the price
I definitely recommend this product! I have a 10 month old, 65lb pit/boxer/shepherd/chow mix and I ordered him the medium. I use it with your average 12 inch bully sticks (not ones from this company) and it works just fine. Yes, the little grips inside do wear down, however if you make sure the adjustable spike sits in the natural groove of the pizzle and tighten it as hard as you possibly can (you could probably even use a tool if you don't have the strength) it will be solid (from my experience). I usually try to wiggle and pull it and make sure it is solid before I give it to my boy. If you put the holder in the middle of the pizzle stick, I feel like it holds better than the holder just being on the ends (more leverage force on the ends for potentially wiggling it free). Although this is just a theory, it seems to hold well either way... Usually what is leftover is about 2 inches of pizzle in which I throw away to avoid a choking hazard. Before this product I tried using the Qwizl as a holder, but he figured out how to pull the pizzle stick out. The reason why I wanted to find a pizzle stick holder is because one day he threw up half of his pizzle stick (6 inches of stick!) I don't know how he swallowed that much whole, but it left me worrying that he could choke while I am gone. This product leaves me with peace of mind! I love how it locks it into place. It is a little pricey since it is the only item on the market, but if I ever needed another one I would buy it again and recommend it to others. Also, the item itself is made from a very hard and solid plastic that is durable. My boy tried to chew it and it only left a few teeth marks.

Pup likes it, i like it. not concerned about choking- great in my book!
got a new puppy a few weeks ago. Was concerned about him choking on the end of a chew stick after reading online and seeing him try to swallow a carrot whole. this will not work for all sizes of chews but so far i have had success with turkey and beef tendon dog chews and small yak cheese chews from pupford. tendons fit with little to no struggling, the small yak cheese required some shoving in (or you could let your dog chew it down slightly). I’d think any yak cheese bigger would be too bug. I have a bully stick and bully braid i haven’t put in yet because too greasy for a puppy to eat but i think they would fit 100% fine. My dog seems to enjoy chewing the chews as much in the tool as without- or potentially more because he also likes chewing on the holder! It is holding up well to his puppy wear and tear after ~2 weeks. will update in the future. It’s not sticky. I noticed no smell. It helps my dogs chewing ability. the thickness is not a lot but has fit all of my chews i have thus far. it doesn’t fit pigs ears but i take those away when they get too small and they’re also pretty greasy

I didn't want to spend $50+ on this but it seemed the best option to hold bully sticks. I was worried because the reviews are varied and there is no return possible but you gotta chance it for your pup. Happy to say it does the job. My dog has used for two months now. He is a 9 month larador and the medium size was great to fit all sizes of bully sticks and collagen chews and I don't think I'll ever have to size up. Lots of teeth marks on the outside but that doesn't matter. Every now and then an odd-shaped chew will be yanked out but the majority of them stay in just fine without any adjustment. Would recommend.

The product is great and gives us peace of mind but it's really expensive for what it is. Bought it as it was the only sensible option we could find. Very robust.

Does not account for oddly shaped bully stick to fit. Tighten too hard and plastic teeth wear down

I bought two sizes of these after seeing them on a popular Golden Retriever Youtube channel. Super easy to use and sturdy. Just slip the bullstick into the opening and screw it in tight and no more worrying about your dog accidentally swallowing the stick when it gets too small. I've found it also slows down over-eager chewing as well. In the photo, my 10 week old Golden (currently 16lbs) is using the medium sized Holder. Wish these had been around for my previous dogs, as they love these bully sticks so much and it was always a stress factor for me watching closely and worrying about them swallowing the final stick ends. Also - nice that there is no weird plastic smell to the holders either, as is sometimes found with other toys/brands. Super happy with this purchase! Highly recommended!
