If you are clumsy, not mechanically inclined and things tend to go wrong with everything you try to assemble, you might consider the common factor in all of those situations... you, and a little humility (a low opinion of oneself) goes a long way. This product is indeed real wood, not particle board. However, it is not a heavy hardwood like Walnut or Ipe, it's not 'axe handle' tough, and it definitely is not priced as such, so YOU must manage your expectations and assemble it with care. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SCREWS! I think this is what is happening with these breakages. With adequate lighting and some glasses on if you need them, tighten the screws until the gap closes between the pieces and you are done, stop there! If you can't see well enough to see the gap, tighten a little at a time (1/4 turn of the screw) when you think you are close and keep checking the gap. Get a piece of paper and try to stick it in the gap at screw locations. If it won't go in you are done! The stand is not going to travel cross country on a skateboard, it will sit and hold records, etc. and there is no need to go crazy tightening things. Much of this review is tough to say that but the truth is offensive sometimes and sometimes it takes being offended to grow. Onward, this thing is a really beautiful piece for the price. The grain of the wood is tight, nice looking and it looks like a much more expensive piece. Great... now I need to actually buy one for myself! I bought it as a gift for someone I love and care about and I know they will not be disappointed. I have neurological and cognitive issues but this stand was very easy to put together, considering the brain and hands I'm working with. I think it took me about 5 minutes or so. Take the pieces out of the box, have a good look at the labeled decals (A, B, C, D, etc), REVIEW THE INSTRUCTIONS, and have a good look at the way the parts will go together. It is simple but I am sure someone could assemble a part or two backwards or upside down. I'm that dumb, I almost did (humility, folks). It might be good to get a thick pillow or something to hold things up for you as you put the screws in if you are not coordinated or have neurological issues like me. If you put a piece into a grove and let a lot of transverse/sideways pressure get on that piece it may break out some wood at the groove like another reviewer posted pics of (you are doing it wrong, Bro, lol). Get someone to put down their phone for a minute and help you keep things lined up like they are supposed to be or figure out how to do it alone. AGAIN, do not overtighten the screws. Snug the legs good and listen to the wood. If you hear slight crackling, STOP TIGHTENING! Go easy on the wood screws, close the gaps and quit. This piece is beautiful and a phenomenal value for real wood. I'm really happy with it. To the seller, THANK YOU for offering us a nice piece like this in beautiful real wood!

What a Great Turntable Stand! This thing is solid wood, easy to assemble and takes minutes to put together. Very sturdy and beautiful. Now I just need to fill it with vinyl. I’m actually shocked at the price.

Very nice piece. Simplistic, mid-century style. Real quality wood, not particle board or some other cheap material. Excellent value for the price. Seller also followed-up to ensure there was no damage in transit, which was a very nice touch.

Perfect compact size for small spaces. Easy to put together. Took 10 minutes. The top screw caught halfway and caused a small split but it's hidden by the player. I'm hopeful I can get a new top piece of wood to replace that one piece. Love it otherwise!

Ordered the warm acacia color and pleasantly suprosed on how pretty it is. Recommend using your own Phillips screwdriver to assemble. Took me about 30 mins to put together and it is very study. I think the top is too small to hold a nicer turntable, but did not need it for that. For the price, very pleased as I was not sure what to expect.

NOTE: I have modified my review. My initial review was about an issue I had with one of the legs. The company responded and sent me a replacement. So, I am very pleased with their service and that they quickly resolved the issue. UPDATED REVIEW Considering the price, it's nice quality. The wood looks good, seems solid, and has a nice finish. Much better than particle board that you'd get with similarly priced products. It's easy to assemble. One warning when assembling the product. This addresses some of the issues you can read about in some of the negative reviews. The legs are attached with a bolt and dowel. The part where the bolt screws into the leg is metal. I assume that it is screwed into the leg at the factory. When you insert the bolt and tighten, do not over tighten. My guess is that when the bolt is secure and gets over tightened it causes the metal piece in the leg to spin and strip whatever wood is holding it in place. Thus, the leg is no longer secure and will just dangle from the stand.

Great record player stand! Solid wood, sturdy and built to last! Also, really easy to put together and doesn’t take up a ton of space. I will probably purchase an additional one for another room. I highly recommend purchasing this stand…You will not regret it!

It’s really cute and easy to put together, goes perfectly with my other music memorabilia. Unfortunately, I got free postage on this and want to buy another however postage is now $99. So as much as I’d love to buy another I can’t justify paying $99 for something that was free a few months ago

I received the record player damaged and broken and unbalanced . I don’t recommend

This is one of the best things I've bought on the Web. The cabinet is solid real wood. Excellent quality and the vintage look I was looking for.
