I am very pleased with this MAXcam 360c. I wanted a dashcam for my truck to be prepared for any insurance scam attempt or accident. Adding the M1 or M2 wasn't an option as my existing Escort Max II was not compatible. I came across this MAXcam 360c and thought I would upgrade my old MAX II that frankly alerted so often to false signals I rarely used it anymore and just relied on Waze to inform me of potential speed traps. I was hesitant because of the cost, and more so because of a lot of negative reviews about the Drive Smarter app, which seemed kind of key to realizing the full potential of this unit. I noted that a lot of those negative reviews were more than a year old, so I took the chance. Boy, am I glad I did. I have been running this MAXcam for a little over a week now and it has not picked up a single false signal. I run it in AutoLoK mode in the city/suburbs, and then Highway when otherwise. I disabled X band, and toggled on K, and Ka "super wide." I live in a very police heavy area and I am only getting alerted when there is a police car nearby running radar. I have not encountered many issues with the Drive Smarter app. It connects within 30 seconds and I can edit the settings easily, and the map works great. I've had it disconnect or be unable to connect to the unit once or twice in a week, and I simply close out the app and then restart it and everything works great. Is the Drive Smarter map as good as Waze or Google Maps? Of course not, and I doubt it ever will be. What would be amazing is if Escort struck a partnership deal with either Waze or Google to integrate their units with their map. I think they would completely own the radar detector market if they did this. But all in all, I am very pleased with this purchase and feel like I am well protected from a false insurance claim, as well as an overzealous state trooper.

I love this radar detector. I'm coming from an Escort 9500IX, which was about 10 years old and gave me false alerts all the time since more and more cars now use radar for alerts, alarms, and self-driving. So I wanted something that was updated, gave me lots of options, and was easy to use. The Escort MAX 360c MKII Laser Radar Detector fits that description perfectly. So far nearly every time it's alerted me to active radar, I've seen law enforcement nearby. I'm sure there are sometimes when they're just very well hidden and I don't see them, but I haven't had a single obvious false alert yet. It used to be the case that I'd know if I was close to a Honda or Acura, but I don't have to worry about that any longer. No more false alerts, and I can be confident that it's picking up legitimate signals. I also like a lot of the different user options. I won't go into all of them here, but it's very robust in the amount of options you have in terms of detectable signals, when to alert you to overspeeding or other alerts, and display options. I do which I could remove the mph and speed limit readings, but to remove those it then gives you a voltage reading, which I care about even less than those. So there are a ton of options. I specifically got the WiFi option for easy updating, but updating seems to take over an hour over WiFi. So I would recommend updating this device using your PC since it'll only take a few minutes or so. I don't use the Drive Smarter app. To be honest, I find it an annoyingly subpar verison of Waze, which, in my opinion, is inferior to what Google Maps has become and Apple Maps hopes to be. I would much prefer if there was some way to integrate the reporting functionality of this app with Google Maps or another mapping app, as I just prefer the display options those apps have over Drive Smarter. But that's just personal preference. I want to make one other note, too: this radar detector is pretty hefty in terms of size. It's not overly huge, but it's way bigger than my 9500IX was. But what was really nice about this radar detector is the aesthetic. The display has several color options, and I really like the blue. The outer case of this one is a black/grey that fits in nicely with my interior, so that's nice, too.

Update** 7/9/2025 I had to send the 1st unit back to Amazon, it was giving false KA signals to the rear almost continually. Software was updated and it still was not working correctly, also it was not connecting with escort app. New 360 is working great, used it the past 3 days and it is the best escort we have, a lot less false signals, directional indicators are flawless, you can figure out where hidden signals (police) are sitting. AND the blue tooth is flawless, app finds the device within seconds and the device and app connect every time. This is what I wanted. Also if you read the below review in my 1st order, this new escort came with the correct windshield mount. Great detector. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Good radar detector, Uniden 9 is better but $$. BUT!!! Heads up escort had the wrong mount with the radar detector, and wouldn’t replace it??? Yes, I called them reported it and asked for the correct mount. and they wouldn't send the correct mount, Cheap response. Talked to Amazon customer support and they sent the correct mount. Thank you, Amazon, shame on Escort/Cedar Electronics. I’ve had 8 or 9 detectors. Never expected the $thousands I’ve spent at escort and to be blown off. Will buy Uniden next time. Not happy with Escort/Cedar Electronic but happy with Amazon.

This radar detector I’ve been using now for over 6 months, this thing works amazing!! It gets quieter as I used it and still beeps less and less as it learns locations, it’s caught signals up to a mile away with police traveling towards me so basically 2 miles!! The only issue I can see is that once in awhile it loses connection with the app as I have it opened in the background so then doesn’t show speed limit on the detector screen but easily can get it reconnected by either going back to the app or reopening the drive smarter app, I use Waze paired with it as more users use Waze than the drive smarter app, but between the detector and Waze it’s pretty tough to get caught! I’d buy this again in a heart beat! My buddy is going to also buy one now as he’s seen how ell mine works compared to his cheaper unit.the arrows are great as you know where the alert is coming from and if it’s what you thought it was or not or multiple alerts in same area as arrows will change as you drive past what’s causing the alerts. If you want a great detector then look no further as this thing is phenomenal!! It’s going on my motorcycle very shortly also….just wish the app had a setting that could send the beep alerts through your phone so the beep could go through speakers when on a motorcycle or louder vehicle, it will send spoken alerts through phone but that is t the same as the beep that most are used to. Overall I can’t complain one bit about it! Get one and enjoy your piece of mind! Ps: I bought mine on Black Friday sale…..

From the moment I unboxed the Escort MAXcam 360c, I knew I was in for a treat. This device is not just a radar detector; it's a comprehensive driving assistant that exceeded my expectations in almost every aspect. Stellar Standalone Functionality: First and foremost, the MAXcam 360c shines brilliantly as a standalone unit. Even without utilizing the accompanying app, this device operates seamlessly, offering intuitive controls and easy-to-understand alerts. It's a plug-and-play marvel that doesn't rely on a smartphone to deliver its best. The dial is a greatly overlooked feature and makes setup and settings easy to change quickly. Impressive Range and Accuracy: The range of this device is nothing short of impressive. It detects signals from a considerable distance, giving me ample time to adjust my driving. The accuracy is top-notch, with minimal false alerts, which is a testament to its sophisticated engineering. Cameras - Adequate and Functional: The built-in cameras are satisfactory. While it may not be the pinnacle of camera technology, they certainly get the job done. The front camera provide a decent quality of footage, ensuring that I have a reliable eyewitness on the road. Overall Experience: The Escort MAXcam 360c is a remarkable device that offers peace of mind on the road. Its standalone capabilities are a standout feature, perfect for those who prefer a device that works independently of a smartphone. The range and accuracy of its radar detection are exceptional, making it a reliable companion for any journey. While the camera is just okay, they complement the unit's primary function well, making it a great all-in-one solution for driving safety. In conclusion, the Escort MAXcam 360c is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to enhance their driving experience with technology that is both reliable and efficient. It's a product that delivers on its promises, and then some. It uses the same hardware as the red line 360c and is just as capable. The biggest complaint in the reviews is about the app, and honestly, you really don't need the app. If you want to watch a video, just connect it to your computer after the drive.
