Kwikset Mobile Home Interior Privacy Door Knob with Lock, Door Handle For Bathroom and Bedroom, Polished Brass Keyless Turn Lock Doorknob

My old doorknob broke in the middle of the night, locking me in my room at 1am. I had to climb out the window. Fun times. I didn't realize I needed a special mobile home doorknob, so the first replacement I attempted didn't work. I tried doorknobs from other doors in the house, and none of them worked either. I was a little afraid of throwing more money at the problem, but eventually got sick of trying to hold the door closed with a heavy object, which my dogs figured out how to circumvent, so I eventually got this one. Thankfully, this one was exactly what I needed. I was able to install the knob within about 10 minutes, most of that trying to get things aligned right. Now it works perfectly. The kit contains a strike plate (which I did not use, as the previous one was still installed and functional), but does not include a face plate - this doesn't bother me as my door does not have a space for one. The inner mechanism is largely plastic, and appears identical to the one that broke on me, so I will be replacing this when it starts showing any signs of failure, like sticking, to avoid another midnight window escape. However, at this low cost I'm not too concerned about that possibility.

I was very pleased with this door knob. It fit perfectly and was so easy to install and so far, it seems to be very sturdy. I'll be ordering another one for another bathroom door!

This door knob replaces a bent knob. The packaging is push tabs so I don't know if this has been used before but I'm missing a door plate and the square version of the strike plate. I was able to use the door plate from my previous doorknob as well as the square strike plate without issue. Disappointed the items were missing. I made it work and the door knob functions properly which was the ultimate goal, just wanted it to all look pretty and new.

Good quality, easy to install. Good value for the money. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the screws for the doorknob were too short. I had to dig through my old screws in my shed to find the same size but a little longer. They worked perfect.

This product fit like original with no modifications needed to install. As anyone who owns a mobile home or modular home knows, converting to “Regular House products “ is a nightmare. Its works great, the movement is easily turned, the color is a perfect match and it is as well made and durable as original equipment. Seems durable.

We purchased a modular home, built in 2004. It is built to the same specifications as a standard stick home, but a lot of mobile home products are used throughout the house, which is very frustrating. My daughter's doorknob started to get stuck and before too long, we were struggling to open her door. I went to a standard big box store and bought a doorknob that matched the other knobs in my house, only to come home and find that they will not work. Standard doors and doorknobs have plates on the side of the door and these doors in this house do not have that plate, but a single hole for the latch...thing. After doing some searching, I finally found these knobs and they matched my other knobs perfectly....and more importantly, they fit! When the knob came in, my daughter installed it herself. That's how easy it was to install. I just hate that I had to go out of my way to buy a specialty knob for my doors. The price was fair, comparable to other knobs. The quality is just okay. I don't like the brass look, but I didn't want to go replacing all my knobs. So if you are here to purchase a doorknob for a mobile home, these are what you're looking for. By the way, this particular doorknob does lock and has a single hole on the outside for a special tool to slide in to unlock the door.

I found it to be a quality and easy to install door knob. However there were two issues. It doesn't come with a replacement plate for the new doorknob bolt to come out of. The original bolt plate your door has may impede the bolt from properly operating as a result of not being the proper size. This may result in not using a plate and enduring exposed wood of door. If it's not an issue cool but it does seem to be incomplete for replacement door knob. It was odd a new strike plate was provided but not a plate for the bolt to come out of. Also, I used the original strike plate as well. The new strike plate has a completely different shape that ends up exposing wood on the door frame.
