Great beginner fight stick, works on many platforms, and great customer service!
I really love this fight stick! It works really well on a bunch of different platforms, including pretty much all modern platforms from PS3 to Switch! Though if you want to use it on PS5 or Series X games, you'll also need to pick up something like their Magic-S Ultimate Wireless Bluetooth USB Adapter, which I got for use with my PS5. Figuring out how to get it working on each new console, particularly the PS5 is my only complaint with this stick, but after you're working its fantastic. For the record, I did run into a snag where I couldn't use my stick right away, but because of the simple design and easy to understand construction I was quickly able to open up the stick and diagnose the problem. I was missing an internal wire connecting the joystick to the board (see pictures), but I was able to message Mayflash support and they mailed me a replacement cord at no charge, so fixing this was a breeze!! Huge props to them for that. Overall this is a really great stick for a beginner fighting game player who likes to play on a bunch of different platforms. I love that the face-plate can be easily switched out for something custom later, and the weight and feel of the stick is just right, balancing affordability with quality, and the Sanwa parts here are a great touch. Thanks for making such a great fighting stick, you can tell my kitties love it too!

Good stick - multi-platform
Quality feel and weight. I was concerned that the stick and buttons were going to be too loud and “clicky” but my concern was unfounded. They’re fine. Now, I have NOT used this yet in any games so I cannot speak about the most important element for which you’re reading this review, Performance. I will give the reason in a moment. I’ve been a gamer since the ‘70’s and I’ve always been a proponent of quality controllers and the proper controller for a particular genre. Let’s face it, our controllers are how we communicate with our games. For example, you will have a far better experience in a racing game with a force-feedback wheel in a racing chair, than you will moving your left thumb one-half of an inch left and right on a standard controller. Though I’m not a fighting game fanatic I bought this controller for classic arcade games that I used to play as a kid, to play on the Nintendo Switch and the fact that the stick is multi-platform simply put it ‘over the top’. I opted for the “Elite” version due to my belief that if you are making a purchase of something and you don’t plan to buy a replacement for many years, and/or you plan to use the item several times a week, just spend the extra money upfront for the superior product. You’ll quickly forget the extra cost and enjoy the extra quality every time you use it. Now, I was unable to use this with my Switch because, as I later discovered, my Switch is slightly damaged. Many months ago it received a large static shock when removing it from the Dock (because I apparently live in polyester and comb my hair with balloons) but it seemed to work just fine in every way, UNTIL I tried to plug the F300 Elite into the Dock. Turns out my Switch now unable to “communicate” through the Dock, though charging works perfectly well. I tried the controller on my friend’s Switch and it works fine but he had no fighting games nor arcade games in which to truly evaluate it’s performance. As I did not know that my Switch was damaged, this leads me to speak about May Flash’s customer service which is, simply excellent. They were very responsive, kind and helpful via email and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Seriously, I can’t imagine it being better unless they flew out here personally, fed me pizza, and offered me a new Switch. I’m keeping the F300 Elite because I WILL buy some PS4 games that will utilize it and will probably purchase another Switch eventually (hopefully the rumored “Pro”) and then plan to use the heck outta it. I hope this helps you in your decision in some way. (Thank you God for video games!) God Bless, and enjoy!

Excellent Entry Level
I originally purchased this F300 Elite for myself, and it's an excellent entry level arcade stick. I knew I wanted good parts, but I really wasn't looking to drop $200+, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to deal with modding, and this comes with Sanwa already in it so that's a plus. For me the size is a little small and the weight could be a bit more but I didn't expect more. The smaller size makes it easy to set on the desk, and isn't a problem sitting on my lap, just would prefer more heft. It feels sturdy and solid overall though. Lucky for me, my son saw me using it and decided he wanted one. He likes DBZ so I just customized this F300 Elite with DBZ themed parts and I ordered myself the larger framed F500 (non-elite since at this point I already knew I intended to swap parts and customize). Overall very satisfied with the F300 Elite, and modding it was super easy as well. We only use it on PC so I have no experience or issue with the need to plug in a controller to use it on whichever console needs it, but I could see that being a deal breaker for some, though ultimately a minor thing. Overall, if you want to get into fighting game or just want an arcade stick this thing is a pretty perfect no-nonsense option. It has quality parts at a reasonable price, you could spend this much on just an enclosure or just a PCB.

Console or Tournament players *READ THIS*
The Mayflash F300 Elite Arcade Stick. TL;DR It's a great Arcade Stick, except for some small quirks that might be off putting. I bought this arcade stick as a personal Birthday gift. I wanted one to use with... *drumroll* "Pac-Man Championship Edition 2". Yeah, not a fighting game xD I'm not the biggest fighting game player, although this stick did get me playing Skullgirls again... but I'm getting off-topic. The F300 Elite is a great arcade stick for people who never had an arcade stick. It's a relative good size (30cm wide, in case you like playing with it on your lap), the sanwa buttons do feel amazing and can last awhile, and the long usb cord will make sure you can plug it in anywhere, and I do mean anywhere. However, there are some things that I feel do need explaining. First off, if you're buying this to use with a console (PS4, Xbox), there will be extra steps. You'll need to plug in a controller to the back of the arcade stick. This might not be such a hassle, but some people might find it uncomfortable or disappointing having to plug in another controller to it. My suggestion: Buy the "Magic-S Ultimate", it'll make your stick compatible with PS4 and Xbox without having to plug a controller to the back (The Magic S is also one of the few ways to use the arcade stick on PS5, plugging a PS5 controller to the arcade stick won't work...YET [Might be fixed in an update, yes the arcade stick can be updated]). And secondly, be careful if you use this for Tournament play. The arcade stick has a turbo button, something that might get you disqualified in a tournament environment. The box does mention a way to disable the turbo and start buttons, however the manual doesn't mention it at all, and after talking with Mayflash support they said it was a misprint. It might be an issue for you or not, I'm just letting you know in case it affects your buying decision. And don't get me wrong, I'm not giving it 4 stars cause it's a bad stick, it's a great stick, but depending on where you use it, you might want to reconsider. But for this price, and working on almost all current consoles, this stick is hard to beat.

Very Nice Arcade Stick - Great Value
I just received mine today and I'm very impressed. Its very heavy duty and without a doubt could take a beating with a baseball bat and still work kind of quality. It comes with a square gate put in. 6 screw to remove the bottom and pow you can access everything you need. Size is that of a dictionary with a nice even weight but definitely not heavy. The Sanwa buttons and stick feel great and the spacing of the buttons is good enough for most players. The extra Sanwa button for the Start Button is kind of overkill but does not affect the value of the product. Input switching is easy, extra buttons for features is indented and out of the way so no accidental touching of controls. I'm not a arcade stick fanatic but for a first impression this is definitely a worthy arcade stick for the price with no further upgrades needed. If you're comparing other sticks to this one keep in mind that you will want the Sanwa parts for sure and will end up paying extra money to get them but not with this stick as the company puts them in for you. Elite versions of this companys sticks have the Sanwa parts. The non elite are cheaper because they do not have them.

Well made, feels solid and professional.
One of the best fight sticks out there, right out of the box. I tried alot of fight sticks out and this is my favorite brand. I was very satisfied with everything about this except when playing on pac-man emulators. Gets stuck on last direction when trying to "roll" into next direction. I dont think I found a joystick that works at all with Pac Man.

This is great but need some mods
Initially I like this. It worked with the Xbox Series S withe the controller. However, i decided to buy the mayflash dongle. I found that the dongle provided lower latency than the controller. Go figure. The 0.9 resistance springs was a no bueno. Too loose.I had to order 4 lb stiffer springs. Six lbs. being even better depending on your resistance Now about the resistor. This is where it gets tricky the square, rectangle resistor was preventing me from playing Pac-Man Miss Pac-Man and other arcade shooter games. It would create inconsistencies in your ability to move the joystick left right and up and down. With a lot of travel going onto the corners. Had I purchased a more expensive arcade stick it would have also came with that square resistor. Fortunately 300 elite actually included the octagon resistor. When I switch that out it made all the difference in the world. And I don't know any other more expensive arcade stick to actually comes with a swappable resistor. Sure you can buy one but if this is new to you you would have never known that that would be the fix for odd, inconsistent joystick travel problems. I also got a 25 millimeter actuator. I'm not sure if this did much but I don't have to move the joystick far in order to make the character go. And, I'm able to make it feel like it did when I was in the arcade. The oval shape handle was far better for my grip than the ball. Summary: I had to buy a 4 lb spring. I had to purchase a 25 mm actuator. Fortunately it included the octagon shape resistor. And I purchased a oval shape handle. This is what it took to get this arcade stick to feel like it did when I was in the arcades. Out the box it felt a little too loose and it reminded me of those arcade games where the joystick was just real sloppy and loose and fit and needed to be fixed. Will you have to report it to the store manager who's in the arcade at the time this joystick is real real loose you got to fix it. So the 0.9 lb spring they use is just way too loose. Surprisingly I probably would have to do the same thing for the more expensive ones.

It's a decent jack-of-all-trades. mid-grade arcade stick
I play a lot of retro video game genres (shoot 'em ups, beat 'em ups and fighting games) largely on Steam but also several of the mini consoles that have released over the last few years. This stick works pretty well. I'd prefer the stick to be a little more responsive, but this is the most expensive on the market. So, I didn't expect everything. I'm also starting to notice the resistance on the buttons I use quite a bit don't have the same spring as the others, but they still work fine. I find the stick works best for games that recognize it as an Xbox controller on Steam. It doesn't work straight plugged into my Astro City mini consoles, which is a shame. But I have a Mayflash Magic Pro dongle that fixes that. I haven't tried it on my other mini consoles, since I like the controllers I have with them already. Ultimately, I find the stick fine. Not great, but not at all bad. I'm a little surprised how fast the buttons are losing their resistance, but I also have a habit of pressing buttons pretty hard when the game gets intense. Plus, I have forgotten to turn on the turbo a few times for older shmups. Which probably added a few 1000 extra pushes on them. Do think that maybe I should have gone with something a tad better and paid the extra for the quality.

NEOGEO mini

Great buy, but a little expensive.
My first arcade stick. The lever and buttons are great. Works on my PC. I played Street Fighter 6 on Steam. But I think the price is a little expensive. Thanks Amazon!

For people who want to play fighting games with gusto.
Arcade sticks are hard to learn. You have to relearn all the muscle memory, where everything is, and it will be frustrating. Could even take a long time to get fully comfortable. Did for me. Now I can't go back. But it's worth it. Not only do you stand out from everyone else rocking their dualshocks, not only do you can you use the same fightstick for every game on (just about) every console, but it also convinces you that you're a better player than you are. You aren't. I had to learn that the hard way. But that's okay. As the title (a quote stolen from Maximilian Dood) says, if you have a touch of derringdo, then definitely consider it. Arcade sticks are the most tactile way to pay fighting games. Slamming the stick, slapping the buttons. Sounds and feels excellent. Solid construction, quality parts, wide compatibility, the only minor gripe is the aesthetics, but you can always slap on a skin. Can also fit on your lap comfortably. This size is the perfect middle ground, as it's not cramped to use, and the portability is passable (considering).
