A watched bot misses the spot, but turn your back and it's gone!
A watched bot misses the spot... so many times I see it running and it JUST missed a piece of lint, over and over... and then I come back 15 minutes later and it's gone! Lots of negative reviews from people who seem to have not understood that this is a random motion robot. Keeping your expectations in line and realizing that even with a random pattern the whole house will eventually be covered every few days and this is an amazing little helper. I actually wanted a "dumb" robot because I didn't want an internet connected device because I care about my network security, and many consumer grade IOT devices have very poor security. I bought two very similar vacuums, one for downstairs and one for upstairs. We have very dark laminate flooring downstairs and it felt like even if I vacuumed regularly there'd still be stuff showing up shortly after I completed my cleaning. I'd do a whole house vacuum every week, but it still felt like I couldn't keep up, so I initially bought this one (the 11S+) for the downstairs laminate. I loved it so much that I bought an 11S Max for upstairs just a short time later. Since the 11S Max is so similar, I'll combine details from both in this review as they're relevant here too. For context, this is in a household with two long-haired adults, no kids, no pets. Downstairs on laminate and tile flooring with only an area rug and fairly basic furniture the device has worked perfectly. It got stuck once on day two in a corner where I had some chairs stacked up and gained the nickname "Waldo"... "Wall-e, the garbage collecting robot... got stuck... where is he? Where's Waldo?!", but hasn't gotten stuck anywhere since and always finds its way home. Every day at lunchtime I come downstairs from my home office and empty the bin and I'm shocked by how much stuff is in it, wondering how I ever lived in such dirty conditions! haha After deciding that this was the best thing ever I bought another for upstairs on the carpeted floors. Things are a bit different there. It seems that every single room upstairs has an obstacle that it doesn't like, and I've had to do a LOT more robot-proofing. In the master bedroom it found its way into the walk-in closet and got tangled on a shirt that had a long string-like fringe and got stuck. In the master bedroom it gets up on the legs of the drying rack and makes a LOT of noise going over them, repeatedly. In the hall guest bedroom it got stuck under the bed that had JUST enough clearance for it to get under, but not get back out. In each of the home offices it gets hung up on the desk legs. In my home office it gets hung up on the legs of my music stand. One night it started beeping after going a touch too far over the edge of the stairs and not being able to back up. It's strange how the downstairs robot can go about its business daily w/o any problem, and the upstairs one has a problem in every single room. I'm gradually going around and finding ways to deal with the problem room by room (e.g. 3d printed bumpers on my desk legs), but it has been a bit more of a challenge. Like the downstairs robot it's SHOCKING how much crap the thing picks up every day, even after a deep vacuuming with our Sebo D4. Being as this one gets stuck so often it got the nickname Dodo. I still love it, and it keeps things cleaner, but does require a lot more babysitting. With time I expect it'll get better as I've been making and adding guards here and there to keep it away from areas where it shouldn't be. A note about the long hair mentioned before: On day 1 I tested the upstairs one before a deep-vacuuming, after about 2 weeks of not doing one and it got REALLY REALLY tangled with hair, but I did a deep vacuuming with the real vacuum and since then it has kept up enough that hair has not been a problem at all. Pros: Very quiet, good coverage (I seldom see a missed spot), picks up a crazy amount of stuff even when you think there's nothing for it to find, cheap maintenance parts, easy setup, no apps nor wifi connectivity to phone home and potentially compromise your home network. Cons: None if your house is robot-proof, some people may have zero problems, some might have a LOT of problems.

I must be getting old, getting this hyped
March 2025: My perception of robot vacuums was not the best, since the last one was a roomba from 6ish years ago, that thing got caught on everything and I had to empty it several times a cleaning. Recently I started getting overwhelmed trying to keep up with my cleaning, as I've got 2 dogs, a cat that tracks litter, and 3 cockatiels (which are very dusty birds, if you don't know). Initially, this bot was having some sort of issue with the water tank. I had it filled to the line but it just kept saying "insufficient water, please add water" and made a horrible squeeling sound when it was trying to wash the mop. After a quick Google search and trying a bunch of different troubleshooting on my own, I found someone said it worked after they gave a could of *firm* pats on the top. I tried this, made sure the soap bottle was securely in place, and she started right up! I've now done 3 cleanings with this bot, and I am VERY satisfied and amazed lol. It did get caught on a charger on carpet, but no big deal ill just make sure there aren't obstacles on the floor like that. It does a very good job of avoiding obstacles so far, and it fills me with joy seeing how clean my floors are now without me having to spend extra time! I was also very stoked that this bot is MUCH quieter than my old one!! The old one was hard to watch TV while it's going, and spooked my pets when it started up, this one is whispering in comparison. It is loud for a few seconds while it's emptying the dust bin, but even then it's not a jarring sound in my opinion. The bot itself and the home station seem to attract dust, or maybe that was just a result of my animal ridden house 😅 but I had to wipe it down the first day. This doesn't bother me, but seemed like something worth mentioning. I have high hopes for this bad boy, hoping it keeps up this performance! Update August 2025: The robot still cleans well, but its now giving me issues.. when it's emptying it's dustbin, it keeps disconnecting from charging, so it gets stuck in a loop of disconnecting the charging, to emptying dust, to disconnecting, etc. It just now was disconnected from wifi, so I took it off the base to reset it, and it said battery low, shutting down, although it had been on its base all night.. I'm unsure if this is a fixable issue, but I sure hope this thing didn't only last me 5 months. I'll mess with it and report back later. January 2026: the charging issue was only temporary, however it started giving me an error saying the dust bag is full and needs replaced, however the bag was brand new and empty. This issue almost made me get rid of the vacuum because it was no longer really cleaning, I had to manually take the dust bin out and empty it. Luckily, I decided to take the whole base outside and inspect it. I found 2 ports that come off where I can put a drain snake in, and it pulled out a bunch of wood chips (from the birds shredding their toys) and hair. The vacuum is now working great again, so im once again happy! I am keeping it out of my bird room though, I dont think birds and robot vacuums get along.

So far so good
The instructions are pretty sparse. I spent the better part of an hour trying to figure why the robot wouldn't return into the base station until I realized an extra piece that came with the kit fit into the base. It cleans ok, although it always leaves trash in the corners so you do have to do some additional manual work. Since I have all hard floors the vacuum does pretty well. The mop does ok although on textured stone it needs several passes to clean completely. I read about the cleaning fluid not flowing enough unless you poke a hole on top. Honestly I can't tell how much cleaner it uses but it seems to clean so I guess it works ok for me. Overall it's worth the money I think. Definitely saving my back.

Great robot!
This replaced our Shark robot vacuum that’s a few years old. After doing some research, several places recommended the Eufy vacuum and mop combos. The app works great with the ability to save multiple maps for different areas of the house, scheduling cleaning, and changing settings very easily. No need to be an IT expert to navigate the app. You’re able to change the vacuum power, water usage with the mop, and how close the passes are to get a real deep clean. The robot is also smart enough to identify if the station isn’t placed in the exact same place every time, and will adjust accordingly. So much better than our old unit. We have new vinyl plank flooring and this does a great job both vacuuming and mopping. With 3 large dogs and a cat, we have tons of animal hair, plus we live in a very sandy area. So far this does an excellent job staying on top of keeping the floors clean. The clean and dirty water tanks are easy to manage, and the vacuum bag is easy to access. I highly recommend this unit for anyone that’s in the market for a robot vacuum and mop.

Great Robo Vac
I purchased this vacuum as an upgrade to my 2-year-old Eufy robot vacuum. This kit was up and running in a matter of minutes and the app is easy to use and understand. After the robot scanned the house I was able to program cleaning times and areas to avoid within a couple of minutes. I really like the ability to keep the noise level down on this new vac....my old Eufy robo vac was very loud and my family constantly complained that it disturbed them. This vac has a whisper quite setting which I use during cleaning times when everyone is home. The mop function is great and the obstacle avoidance is really nice. 100% improvement over my old robo vac.

Lasted 6 months
UPDATE: I could not return the unit because I am not in the US and they would not SELL me just the robot vacuum piece. Do not buy. My fault turned out to be the roller mop stopped spinning. UPDATE: after my review was posted customer service reached out to me and offered a refund with return of the unit. So I updated the stars to 3 for customer service. Got 6 months of use then the faulty messages started. Was sent a replacement piece but the error messages continued. Eufy has now offered me a 50% discount to buy a new machine 🤣 hard no. During the 6 months it worked I found it bumped into things, sucked up charging cords. It did keep the floors clean but with so many other problems I think there’s a better machine out there.

Great budget Robo-Vac
This vacuum is exactly what I expected, its not anything too fancy, it just goes and when it bumps into something it turns to get the next area of the floor. Its not a random path but it isnt a "smart" vaccum either. it doesn't have machine learning or AI. If youre okay with that, this would be great for you. No crazy bells and whistles, no weird setup, just run it and forget about it and its really affordable. It does perfect with the magnetic strip. It will not pass. This one is also app compatible so you can change the suction or run it at a specific time. Its really easy to clean and empty and will return to its dock on its own. It has a really good battery life as well. Its slim profile allows it to fit under most furniture. It is slightly noisy but no where near as loud as a manual vaccum. Overall its a great budget vaccum

It's good.
It's an exceptional piece of hardware that will change your life if you are new to robo vacs. It's sturdy and feels like premium equipment. The self-emptying features are startingly loud, though. It is not a miracle cleaning device and doesn't get everything on one pass. I must have spent two months looking at robo-mop vacs. Going into it, I thought there were maybe just a few manufacturers to choose from. Was I wrong -- but over and over, I kept seeing this model of Eufy at the top of so many reviewers' lists. So I decided this would be the one and bought it. Apparently, I wasn't as thorough in my reviewing or I would have known that since the S1 there have been Pro and S2 models released. I also didn't see much in the way of the amount of consumables are required by this machine. Needing replacement on a regular basis are: the mop roller, the side brushes (2), the dust bag and the (proprietary) detergent module. I've been able to find package deals for about $35 to replace all the consumable items, which will be an expense approximately every six months. My own mistake for not checking further into the requirements, so I can't fault the device for that. However, There are two major issues I have since discovered. The first is that the canister, which collects the dirty mop water from the robot, has a gasket to maintain a seal and keep the dirty water in place until you change it. That gasket is either significantly flawed in its design or the manufacturing process is flawed. It doesn't allow for a full seal of the canister when the lid is closed, which means that the base unit flashes a red light and doesn't empty dirty mop water from the robot. It took some digging, but I was able to discover that, apparently, this is a common problem, and a commonly suggested fix was to put a piece of cellophane or electrical tape on the gasket to assist with making the seal. I feel a little ripped off having to DIY something I just paid hundreds of dollars for. Second -- the detergent module doesn't seem to be adding any detergent to the water going into the mop -- meaning you are just getting a water-clean mopping experience. An internet search revealed this is also a common problem which people have solved by drilling a hole into the top of the plastic detergent module, relieving the air pressure preventing the flow of detergent out of the box. Sounds simple enough ... but again, why do i have to do this on something I just paid so much money for? And what if the hole is drilled incorrectly and the entire box of detergent comes spilling out into the base unit? I can imagine hearing about a voided warranty from drilling into the product. The mapping feature on the robot is good. it figured out my 560 square foot apartment on the first try and went to work cleaning it the next day. I even moved the base unit several times and the robot found it again with no issues. My dog, however, is convinced the robot is trying to run him down. I only schedule it for when we are out on walks. The cleaning capability seems good enough; not perfect, mind you, but good enough to keep my floors a lot cleaner than I do on my own. It does surprise me that the above-referenced gasket issue still has not been addressed by Eufy and customers are forced to DIY a touchy product. There is no printed referenced material or setup guides provided, but are all online. The app to program and schedule cleaning is good and updates frequently. The S1 is a big device, standing almost three feet tall. It's not something you can easily hide. It also has always-on LED lighting and it talks.
