Grandfather's Journal: Memories and Keepsakes for My Grandchild

Bought this for my father as he's a sentimental sausage and loves stuff like this. Some things will have to be worked around eg, the school years as it's an American book but that's easily done. Lovely product!

A beautiful journal. Six chapters and lots of questions.

Gave this to my brother in law for his birthday. He was very pleased and has started to write in it. It has stimulated a lot of conversation within the family.

Gorgeous design and questions. Solely American though

It is a beautifully illustrated book and would be good for a "modern" ie young grandfather. Unfortunately I bought it for a 80-90 year old... so some of the questions are not suitable. Besides it seems to be published in the US so many references are to American upbringing and background. So I had to return this beautiful book. On the other hand I bought the grandmother one for a friend of mine and she does not mind the americanism of it.

I purchased this as a present for my father and purchased the Grandmother’s Journal for my mother and they both loved it. It’s a great way to keep their memory and experiences alive.

IN SHORT: if you have young children, hurry up and buy the grandfather/grandmother notebooks! I realized that I didn't know much about my parent's lives as much as I'd like. They always talked to me from a parent to their child, but never truly as they would talk with a close friend. I bought a blank notebook for my father's Christmas few years back, asking him to write down anything he'd like to share with me, stories about his childhood, his first love, his first hungover, how he met my mother, etc. Sure enough, he never wrote in the book. My first born is going to turn 2, and I really wanted to get this information from my parents, so I could share with my children, but also for myself. It turns out, giving an empty notebook was too intimidating for someone who never writes. This is why I love these ones, they are GUIDED. Structure helped my dad write down. I love the illustration, the various categories and the questions being asked.

This is a great gift for both grandpa and grandchildren who will get to know their history and grandparents better. It was very well received and I’m happy to recommend.
