Good for price
Kind of hard to understand the set up instructions but I really good camera for cost. I do use a Seperate tripod. Be sure to have sound setting correct when mic is plugged in. Recorded an entire event with the mic plugged at the top and had no sound of a 3 hour event. That was user error. Lol. Overall, nice quality and picture

Great all round video camera and snap shots
Very pleased with the video camera for the price. The external microphone is a great asset to the camera, just have to remember to turn it on or there won't me any sound in your picture. The dual battery charger is a great thing to have. Picture quality is very good. And taking pictures like a camera is another great attribute to the camera. Battery life seems pretty good, even when you are running the microphone on the camera. I haven't run the extra light yet, that runs on its own power supply, and it stacks up in top of the mic or the camera. I can see where the remote control is going to be a great feature. Only down side I have, I had to down load a program to convert the videos to a format the my Corel Studio Video would support. I found a free one that works great "Hand Brake". That takes a little while to convert the video mp4. The other thing I don't like is the battery and SDS card is on the bottom of the camera. So with my attachment for quick hookup to my tripod, I have to remove my attachment to replace the battery or SDS card each time. The camera handles a 256 mb card just fine.

Good for a Retro Style
I bought this and I have to say, it is pretty good. This is great for retro videos. The battery life is also very good. The only flaws I'd say, is that the touchscreen is not that good, and the footage cuts if you open the hatch with the battery and sd card compartment. Overall worth it

Great video quality & easy to use
I purchased this video camera for my upcoming YouTube podcast and I am very pleased with my purchase. The camera is easy to use and takes high definition videos and photos. The microphone is quite sensitive and I only need the middle setting to pick up my audio. The view screen can be turned towards me so that I can watch and see myself while I am recording. This is important because I do not have to guess at what I am recording such as how the video is framed. The remote works great and I use it instead of the buttons on the camera itself. The zoom function which can be controlled with the remote allows me to hide my desk and the remote in my hand in order to concentrate on my face while I am speaking. You can install an app on your cell phone and connect with the camera via wifi. The light panel which is included is bright, but I decided to add some additional lighting as well in order to get as clear a picture as possible. I also purchased a tripod which attaches to the bottom of the camera. All in all, a wonderful piece of technology and a steal at the price.

UPDATE: Returned. See full review for info
UPDATE: 11/27/2023 After the review went live customer service reached out and offered a full refund. I was highly impressed. Then they followed up with an email explaining my issues and wanted more information. A funny reply about the focus issue was the camera does not have a focus function but "as long as you hold it steady, the video will be relatively clear" (Actually it was on a tripod so holding it wasn't an issue) They also said "use your fingernails to touch the screen" in response to my statement the touch screen is hit and miss. I sent a more detailed response and their reply was, in short, "We have not encountered the problem you mentioned so far." And asked for images, which were sent. (I have also updated my review with some of these images) Now this is where it takes a downward spiral. After telling me they don't experience any of the issues they reverse what they said and now state, for example, the camera doesn't have a focus feature and they never claimed it has a focus so that's why things don't focus. (See images) Next I complained that the camera screen shut off when in webcam/pcCam mode (See image) At first they said it didn't and than after I sent photos they told me that it does shut off and all cameras do this. (They don't) They never addressed the auto shut off when you close the screen. If it were not for the inability to focus on anything close than about 10 feet away it would be a semi decent starter camera. But I am reducing to one star based on comments like this: "If you think it is difficult to use without the focus function, we have actually tested it ourselves. If you adjust and fix the camera, and view the recorded videos and pictures on the computer, the effect will be much better" The images I posted were taken with the camera, you can look at them yourself on the computer...focus is focus and the lack of focus is a flat out deal breaker. Original Review: ====== First things first. If you are purchasing this thinking it is, as is described, a "professional" camera it is not. You get what you pay in terms of camera quality. In terms of included accessories you kind of get more than you pay for. First impressions: 1. Focus seems to be a "fixed" focus. Meaning it doesn't focus before a certain distance. I found no way to set any focused points. 2. When used as a PC camera the flip out screen doesn't function. I could not find a setting that turns the screen on or off. 3. The flip out screen is also an off/on switch. An annoying feature. As mentioned above when used as a PC cam the screen doesn't do anything so you could close it. But you can't because the camera will shut off. 4. The touch screen is hit and miss. So far mostly a miss. I found my self using the remote because is was easier. 5. All of the wording about this being 8k is slightly misleading. It only does 8k at 15fps. Which it does say above if one decides to read the "fine print" but the wording is such that you would be able to shoot 8k at 30. At 15 it's like shooting old 8mm film which was typically set at 15 or 18. 6. On the plus side there are lots of settings such as ISO and color setting as well as basic exposure settings that can be locked in. Most camera in this price range are auto everything. Having said that keep in mind my first impression is that these settings don't matter when it's used as a PC cam. Mater of fact you have no access to any camera settings. I really have not tested the still camera mode, mostly because of the focus issue. This all is subject to updates as I use it more as well as the manufacturer reaching out to explain the above issues. For example will there be a firmware update that solves these issues?

8K Cam
I am really pleased with the size, weight and durability of the sleek design of this camcorder. This little guy comes with all the bells and whistles with numerous assessories (handheld stand, adjustable mount for cam or light, 3.5mm aux cord for microphone, a mic, mini tripod, two rechargeable batteries, changing system, and plenty of Type C chatging cords. I chose this cam to upload content to my YT channel and live streaming; however, there were a few things that make reviewing quality vids challenging. One thing I noticed about the WI-FI feature is the app you have to download in order to access it. I was under the impression that I could connect the camera to a ISP (Internet service provider) for ease of livestreaming (maybe I haven't figured it out quite yet). Additionally, during playback function I found that I could not FF or RW the vid (only pause, stop, or next video). I have gotten a lot of data from my lil buddy thus far, and am quite satisfied with the video quality and use of my new 8K Cam! Great buy for vid quality, gathering data, and all other intended purposes!!

Affordable camera
I needed a second camera because I want to do two camera shoots. I have not used it alot yet but the video quality is great even when I don't use 4K. In fact I don't want to use 4K because I can't edit it in my program. I was able to match the video quality to be equal to my 1000 dollar camera. I don't need long videos which is a good thing because it is awful on batteries. Now I know why they gave me two. I don't need good sound since I will use the sound from the wireless mic attached to the main camera. Good thing I don't depend on this for sound because the sound is horrible. I speak in a normal tone and notice on my editor that the audio is clipping (distortion). I have yet to find a setting that would lower the mic level. My model came with a "professional" mic. I was thinking that might improve the sound. Well it did not which means the problem is somewhere beyond the Microphones. So I recomend this camera to people like me who just need a second camera for 2 camera shoots, or for deaf people. or people who like silent movies. There is a setting to cut the sound off.

Handler Than A Handycam!
For an artifact sold for a price 80% less than Sony's Handycam you get virtually all the functionality you would expect. From 720p to 1080p all the way to 8K with up to 120 fps (720p only) this tiny camcorder is bound to be mega fun to use! This is effectively a Vivitar 840XHD I bought at Radio Shack over 15 years ago where this basic design got heavily updated to the specs I read just now barely before buying it. Though on the outside box and within its tangents this video camera is nameless, it is all Vivitar though the batteries included are not compatible with the old camcorder I bought earlier. Also the old Vivitar only recorded in AVI format and its picture playback was grainy and therefore the picture quality was unacceptable. The only flaw with this particular camcorder sold as a Vetek in advertising is the literature under "Warm Tips." A brand name like Sony and a model name like "Handycam" cannot be arbitrarily considered "professional." This video camera functionally is as good as anything from Canon or Sony but without the price of trumpeting a recognized brand. This video camera is one of those meant to initiate new video camera personnel and photographers into this field, not to flaunt professionalism on the surface. The other purpose is to be financially budget friendly even for professionals. The box merely says,"...for beginners and amateurs, not professional users," but you may never know if the professional cannot afford what is considered "professional." The only thing really "professional" is the quality of pictures and sound according to the testimony of camcorder users who used high-end products as far as what I observed in YouTube videos concerning this purchase I made. This "Vetek" 8K has a memory capacity far better than the 32GB SD card it comes with - up to 256GB! It definitely is portable! And very "light," both in weight and literally the lighting gizmos packed in it! The flll light shocked me silly - it too has its own internal battery! The fit and stability will surprise even the pros! However the instruction manuals are not a friend to nearsightedness - the text is way too small. I tested the camcorder and I found the picture quality to be nice and clear. Setting up and preparing the camera for its first use is practically a no-brainer! This camera thus is made for the masses in all walks of the road in filming and photography all the way to the professional level on top of everything else being to sell to the consumer at a budget price and not bragging about "professional " names in branding. And to be packaged with so many extras all inside the box makes this a sure-fire bargain! As the testimony of other Amazon reviewers of their examples of this product demonstrates, you don't need a "pro-level" piece of filming and photography equipment for your content to be as good as the movies, TV shows and ads we watched. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner, amateur or a professional either. You just want to have fun filming and taking pictures without digging deep into your wallet! That's what this camcorder is meant for!
