I am very pleased with this automatic cat feeder. It's given me peace of mind when I'm away from home or at work, because I know my cats are being fed on schedule. The feeder is easy to program, so once it's set up, it does the work for you. You can also feed your pets manually through the app. One feature I really appreciate is the dual cameras. The video quality is surprisingly good and allows me to check in on my cats to make sure everything is working as it should. The live feed also lets you record video, and the voice messaging feature is a nice touch for calling your pets when it's time to eat. Overall, this has been a reliable, well-made feeder that has worked exactly as I hoped. If you're looking for an automatic feeder with remote monitoring, this one is definitely worth considering.

This works great. It’s easy to program and you can adjust it via the app as long as it’s plugged in. We have to use the battery a lot since the cats are fed in a room that doesn’t have outlets. However, we still like the ease of use and the ability to set portions. Especially for our chunky cat. Greta value and recommend.

This automatic cat feeder for 2 cats works well, and I'd say better than most. It reliably dispenses the cat food without jamming or making a lot of noise, and it does it quickly. The setup is fairly easy, although the app is not great and is nothing more than a scheduling feature. We've never had to test the the battery life as a backup option. There are a few things you need to be aware of with this feeder. There is no low food sensor, so if you place this feeder in a location that is not highly visible, this could be a problem. The amount of food it dispenses cannot be delineated into small portions, which means it is all or nothing—no half servings. The app only tells you that a feeding occurred; it does not tell you anything else. While the device connects easily to your WiFi network, it does work with Amazon's Alexa, Google's Smart Home, or Samsung's SmartThings, and instead you are forced to use yet another third-party app called SmartLife, which I, personally, don't like, as it feels like it is just there to snoop. Like, we don't have enough one-and-done apps. It has so far been a durable and reliable device that I would suggest to others if they can live with the caveats listed.

I have three of these for all the cats. Great price easy setup. Huge reservoir. Good design and product. Bought one, and wanted more after using it. Thank you for removing all the time it took to fill bowls. And with my back that's a lot of bending over I won't have to do. I fill it and forget it. Easy to clean, dishwasher, metal bowls are great.

I have a single feeder from another brand, has been serving me for a while, however, in a multicat house, not all get along and extra food bowls were needed. What I like about the Frienhund, it has two bowls, large see through hopper to visually verify if there is food and app control makes it a breeze to control. I did not test the battery life, as I use it only as a backup. Device is made of quality materials is easy to clean and works exactly as expected.

I'm not always a fan of downloading an app to set up a new device, but am glad I did. I dont write a lot of reviews either, but I am grateful for this product's ease of use, would bowls, and large food capacity. The feeding app is free, not another subscription. My only tiny difficulty was that I didn't have the large batteries for backup power on hand, and I wish the QR sticker for the feeding app had a white background instead of clear because I filled the feeder prior to this step and then couldnt get it to scan. (My bad.) I was able to peel it off and stick it on top and then all has been well for the past couple months of use! I have the feeder set up for some outdoor kitties and it has worked perfectly. The app is very user friendly, and I appreciate being able to feed them manually or EASILY adjust the feeding schedule when I am not home. I have the feeder tucked away behind my duck pen where it has been a difficult spot for house sitters to feed the shy outdoor cats, and now they don't have to do it. I like being able to pick a feeding size number and time on my phone instead of having to click through a bunch of buttons on the feeder like I did with a previous inside feeder. The 7L capacity is great. I got another one for my inside rescues for when I'm gone as well, but recommend actually using the wall mount for your playful cats since they immediately dumped it over when I did not. The structure of this product is sound and easy to clip together. The lid is easy to open and is secure where the animals wont remove it to binge eat. I really have no complaints other than my own impatience of making the QR code difficult for myself by pre filling with food. I don't know how long it lasts on batteries only since I used an extension cord as well as the battery back up.

1st time to buy one of these! I’ve had it for several months now and I can tell you it is very reliable . I enjoy using my phone to give them an extra meal and love that I can set the feed schedules and it feeds them on time every time . I love it! I spent so much time on YouTube researching, and on Amazon, reading tons of reviews on different brands. This one works great with the Temptations dry cat food. I was a little worried at first, because Temptations cat food has 2 different sizes; the kibble and the Temptations treats mixed in. This works just fine with Temptations dry cat food. Can’t wait for my kitty water fountain to arrive! The QR code for tutorials for this is on page 2 of the paper user manual booklet, The QR code to download the app to feed your kitties when you’re away is on page 12 of the paper user manual booklet. The cord is about 66 inches long. I didn’t see this measurement anywhere before purchasing but I’m happy to put it here so you can measure from your outlet to the floor to see if this works for you! Put the D size batteries in first (you’ll need three). Take the cat feeder to the room in your home with your router and modem. Download the app first before plugging it into the wall. If You plug it in first it will continuously beep at you !! Create your account. Then plug it in and allow it to find your Wi-Fi net work. Then, once it’s found the network, enter your passcode etc in the app, then you can unplug it and take it back to the room that you plan on keeping it in. I literally had so much fun setting this up. It was super easy! I love the design and I love the color! The only thing I wonder about is if I have it on two servings when I set it for 7 AM and then go back and set it for one serving for 10 AM did that hold to keep different serving sizes for the different times. I set mine for 4 feedings per day. When it talks about servings, it’s talking about the amount of kibble that comes out. I give larger servings at the beginning and ending of the day and smaller servings in the middle of the day. The Internet said that it does let you set different serving sizes for different times, this is a great purchase. You will be pretty happy about it if you get it.

The feeder works as advertised, dispensing food on schedule or on demand. It is well made, didn't tip over, and was easy to clean. Portion size is in increments of 1/4 c, so you can control portions within a range. Size wasn't bad, didn't take up a ton of space, which is nice. The challenge....my cat....my never full, always scouting for food, cat. He figured out that if he pops his paw up the shoot, he can cause it to dispense.... We didn't figure out what he was up to, until a few weeks later when we heard it dispense 3 times in an evening. Took the 1 star off, as that seems like a design flaw...pets shouldn't be able to reach up and have it dispense. Needless to say, we had to stop using this, and the cat is going to need a bit of a diet

This food dispenser is great. It dispenses the large Royal Canin Cat Vet Dental biscuits no problem. Easy to set up and fill. App is clear and simple to use. Customer service has been great, the machine beeps quite loudly when food is dispensed. I emailed FRIENHUND to see if there was a way to turn off the beep. Within a day they patched through a firmware update to remove the beeping. Fantastic service.
