This game is so much more that what you're likely expecting. Also, fantastic value for what you get!
I do like my space games, but i had some trepidation about getting this one.. i thought it's probably made for kids, given the nature of the physical ships and pilots, so hesitated getting this game for a long time.. After finally watching some videos of it on Youtube, i was impressed by what i saw, so decided to give it a go, and i'm really glad i did, as this game is fantastic! and there is so much more to it than i expected, and it is not what i would call a kids game, as there is so much to it, and is not a walkover by any means if played on anything above the easiest difficulty setting. I got the Switch version of this, and i have to say it was nice to get a model of Starfox and Arwing with this version.. it looks so much better than the ship you get with the game on the other versions, and fox and his ship aren't just different skins for the game, they are fully integrated into the story, and i thought that was very clever and cool, though it should be noted that you get the figure for the base game character also, and his ship on the game. The game itself is something i didn't expect, it's vast! which is good. There is plenty to do. Being a Ubisoft game, it has that same kind of open world (or in this case world/s) things to do, things that scatter the may to do, from places to search to places to clear out as well as the main and side missions, planet side as well as in space, which is good, as it gives you plenty of opportunity to level up your pilots and ships. The game is open free-roam, you can go to all the different planets and space in between at your pleasure, which is great. The game plays really well, the combat is satisfying, quite fast in space but you get used to it, and planet side, i was pleased to see there are two modes of travelling, which you can switch between. a mode where you hover lose to the ground, and you slide and strafe like you would if you was on foot in a third or first person shooter, and you can go into flight mode, where you can fly around like you would expect in a space/flight game, away from the surface, and this system works extremely well. It should be noted you don't have to have the ships plugged in to be able to use them, you can play with a normal joypad also, though you should also not that if you buy any extra physical ships and weapons, you have to plug them in at least once a week just to prove you still own them, but i can understand why it needs you to do that. Oh, one thing definitely worthy of mention, which i never knew, is that you can play the full game (the campaign) in Co-Op! and local split screen Co-Op at that, which is fantastic as i love Co-Op in games, and it's nice to get the help in the campaign, Co-Op always makes a game more fun in my opinion. No online Co-Op though as far as i know. The two downsides to this game is firstly, because of the way the game was designed, you don't get much in the way of ship and weapon choices with the base game. In a normal game, you would have all these choices built into the game, but because they want to sell the extra ships, weapons and pilots, there isn't much you get with this game in terms of those. Also, as previously said, if you have physical ships, pilots and weapons, you have to plug them in at least once a week to prove that you still own them, which makes you want to download them to save the aggravation of having to plug in once in a while, which is a shame. Lastly, it's a shame that you can't swap the thumsticks around. The ship controls are on the right stick and throttle and sliding on the left stick. Lots of people are used to the opposite, myself included, so it's a shame there is no option to swap the thumstick functionalities in the game, though you do adjust eventually, but i'd rather not have had to. All in all though a really good game that will surprise you with how much there is to it and that it's not just for kids, not by a long way.. this game is far anyone and is actually fairly hardcore, which was a very pleasant surprise to me.

Epic space fights
I bought the physical version of the game and have been adding the ships physically to my collection. This is just a nice touch as they're well made, the pilots, ships and weapons can all individually be swapped about and it looks nice on the shelf. The Nintendo switch version implements Fox really well into the game. He isn't merely an add on character but has his own story and is placed into in game cut-scenes really smoothly/ has his own. His ship looks great and his crew can appear to help throughout the game using the L tab. The game itself is easy to pick up and get going, as well as rather addictive. I won't spoil anything however the story is simple enough, but with enough substance to keep it interesting. The npc's in the game are again interesting enough, if a bit repetitive. The real joy of the game is the fighting. On planet there is a back and forth between the enemy for control of planets, areas and bases . In space you are ambushed by enemies that really have it out for you! The controls are easy to use and pick up, and the ai is intelligent enough to keep battles interesting and at times make the game quite challenging. Lives are basically ships; if your ship gets destroyed you swap to a new one until you run out. This can mean having extra ships makes the game easier, however I have found that you can complete the game with just the basic pack, but side missions etc do need various weapons (if you can't be bothered to find work arounds i.e. finding a compatible explosive in world). As such it is not in anyway a pay to win game, but paying a little more for these ships and guns makes the game easier and quicker. You can never leave your ship, but this doesn't take away from exploration as you can pick things up, sell things and scan wildlife. The game takes place on seven different worlds, each with its own life, missions and 'atmosphere'. Getting to and from planets is smooth and feels really exciting. All in all it is a really fun game, with a bonus of toys to life. You can get the full game digitally, which I believe works out cheaper, however physical seems to be getting plenty of offers and adds a really nice touch to your shelf. Also physical is satisfying switching weapons and pilots about (you don't even have to pause game). Highly recommend.

A great game but budget in several add ons!
Great graphics and easier to play than Starfox (which we had for the wii u) for my 11 year old. Bear in mind the game is definitely better when you purchase extra ships and weapons. We purchased this at a reduced price around Black Friday but it then halved in price shortly after 😕. At around £20 this is great value for money. The add ons bring this game up to five stars for my son, but again, buying things at a reduced price makes a big difference unless you have a money growing tree nearby! Hard to calculate game play time as my son only plays for a limited time a day and has other games. Nevertheless there seems to be enough challenge and content as he still hasn’t completed every challenge or visited every planet and we’ve had the game for almost two months now.

Vaya ganga, justo lo que necesitaba para poder jugar dos a la vez, y por 1,45€! Increíble. Ya puedo vender un pack de inicio del juego.
