Hybrid but wonderful stills camera
Moved from crop sensor Canon 90D to this full frame camera not fully realising that it is targeted at video content creators. But what a stunning stills camera this is. The Mega Pixels are down from 32 on the 90D to 24 but to be honest having access to again to a 35mm frame totally outweighs that. Whilst the magnification of the crop sensor will be missed I can not say this is a deal breaker. Images are wonderful and the autofocus system simply because it is biased and designed for video is amazing for stills. Quick and accurate.

Great camera. Poor product support
I am very pleased with the camera. It is exceptional and without doubt the best camera I have ever owned. I take a lot of sports images and the autofocus is superb. The video is great too but I knew that would be the case as I also own a Panasonic fz2000. The reason I have only given it 4 stars is because I have been unable to register the camera. The camera's model number is not recognised on the Panasonic website. I contacted their support and was directed to WhatsApp. I sent them details of the problem and a photo of the model number etc on the box that it came in. Despite this each time they have replied they have asked for the same details again and if I have not responded to their WhatsApp chat within 2 minutes they have ended the support enquiry. I have asked them to resolve the matter by email within 48 hours and if they don't I will return the camera to Amazon for a refund. It is now 5th August and I am still unable to register this model on the Panasonic website. The model number is still not recognised and I have heard nothing further from Panasonic support. If you read this Amazon please help so that I don't have to return it. I was finally able to register this on the 13th August despite no further communication from Panasonic support. I just kept trying every few days to register it and at last today the model number was recognised. Support issues aside the camera itself is great. Just need to save a bit more money to buy the 70-300mm lens for it and then the 85mm f1.8. 😁

Compré esta cámara para poder crear contenido audiovisual de calidad. No se calienta, graba perfectamente, fotos impresionantes, la doble iso se nota en entornos de baja luminancia en vídeo y foto. La estabilización es increíble, y poco más que añadir, una cámara a un precio muy competente para lo que ofrece.

I'm using Lumix camera's since many years I used to have a MFT G9, and from there I moved to the full format S5 D. Now I've moved up another step bit with the S5 II it feels like a quantum leap this camera is such a change from the predecessor alone from the auto focus it's a pleasure to know I can fulfil the shot now without guessing if the camera could track as was the case with the S5 D. I'm using also the battery grip on this camera and it works great and using the Panasonic 100-500mm Tele all my wishes have been fulfilled and I'm still learning what this camera can do. The S5 II gets my full marks ! A great camera !!

Ottima macchina, ma attenzione a quello che vi arriva. Amazon ha comunque risolto. Ho acquistato la Panasonic LUMIX S5M2 con il kit 18-40mm durante il Prime Day, approfittando di un ottimo prezzo per una mirrorless full frame molto apprezzata da professionisti e appassionati. (Sono un professionista e ho acquistato la mia seconda S5ii per sostituire il mio secondo corpo macchina la mia amatissima Lumix S1) Tuttavia, appena aperta la confezione, mi sono accorto che qualcosa non andava: la macchina, sebbene venduta come "nuova", mostrava già circa 50 scatti all’attivo e 27 accensioni. A tutti gli effetti, era stata già usata. Non è quello che ci si aspetta da un prodotto nuovo, soprattutto di fascia alta. PRO: Qualità d’immagine eccellente, anche ad alti ISO. Autofocus molto migliorato rispetto alla generazione precedente. Video professionali fino a 6K con profili log. Corpo solido, ben costruito e tropicalizzato. Lo zoom 18-40mm incluso nel kit è compatto e sorprendentemente versatile per le sue dimensioni. CONTRO: Il kit è limitato lato escursione focale: ottimo per street e vlog, meno per ritratti o paesaggi spinti. Il menù, pur essendo migliorato, può risultare un po’ dispersivo per i neofiti. La batteria ha una durata discreta ma non eccezionale: una seconda è quasi obbligatoria. ASSISTENZA AMAZON: Nonostante il problema iniziale, Amazon si è dimostrata rapida ed efficiente nel risolvere la situazione, come sempre. Hanno gestito il mio reclamo con professionalità e mi hanno proposto un’alternativa adeguata. In conclusione, la LUMIX S5M2 è una macchina eccellente e il kit è interessante, ma controllate sempre bene all’arrivo. Grazie ad Amazon per aver sistemato il disguido in modo rapido.
