First let me say that the WHCOOL Customer Support Team goes above and beyond. I appreciate all they did to ensure I was satisfied with their product. They reached out after my purchase, quickly responded to my questions, and then sent a replacement which fits better. I have had a drop foot for over 20 yrs. Some years I was good and wore a leg brace (- cumbersome and required larger shoes to fit the bulky brace). Some years I went without a brace or any support (- which led to many stumbles and falls when my foot would snag and trip me up). I found that wearing hiking boots was a decent compromise but even that isn’t ideal year after year. I had tried an ankle brace in the past but it, too, was bulky in my shoe and only did a mediocre job of keeping my foot from dropping when I walked. What caught my eye with reviews for this brace was that it is thin enough to fit well into shoes. I agree. My foot slides into my normal shoe just fine while wearing the brace. And the brace provides LOTS of support. Ideally I want something that will keep my leg-foot in an L (- 90 degrees) position and keep my foot from dropping when I walk (- which is why hiking boots were a decent compromise.) This brace holds my foot and leg firmly yet comfortably … and I can wear it with my regular shoes. I like how easy it is to cinch the laces snug. And how firm and rigid it holds my ankle. Wins all around. For me this brace isn’t simply a short term solution for a sprained ankle (- which it would also be excellent for) but a long term solution for a permanent problem. So glad I found and purchased this brace.

This ankle brace is a bit complicated to put on, but it provides good support and is adjustable. Look at the instructions to get a sense of how to put it on. The two sets of laces are attached via a velcro strap, so not as complicated as it looks. The other straps wrap around your foot and ankle and have a stiffer brace that attaches via velcro to each side of your ankle. It was a bit clumsy at first, and the velcro seemed to want to grab my sock, but after a couple of days, I seem to have the hang of it. It is designed to fit over your sock and then you can wear your own shoe over it. It is less support than an orthopedic walking boot, but more than an ace bandage. And it won't stress your other joints as an orthopedic walking boot can.

This is a helpful brace and support for anyone who has suffered an ankle injury. I fell down a couple of stairs and severely twisted my ankle while carrying a vacuum cleaner. This brace helped me keep somewhat mobile while my sprained ankle healed. It is simple to put on and helps support your weight as the slow process of recovery occurs. My package also included a small compression sock that was equally useful when the larger brace was no longer needed. It was difficult to get the brace into a shoe as my ankle was swollen and the brace added some extra width. It did work well in a boot where there was ample space for socks and braces. We live in a place with frequent winter snowstorms, so I had to limp up and down our driveway clearing snow with our two-wheeled tractor. The brace made it tolerable.

This review is based off what I need it for which is to stabilize my ankle for it not to roll so easily. My ankle still has full range of movement but has a little pushback from the brace when it rolls. There is no insert or metal along the sides of the ankle to offer support. It's all soft material other than straps. The straps are sturdy material with thick rubber ends to kinda stabilize your ankle. It doesnt give enough support not to roll your ankle. The straps that wrap around the top of your ankle are sturdy and wrap around tight and comfortably. Those straps are what give the most support. This brace is nice looking and Lightweight. I recieved a similar brace at the Dr's office and it had support bars inside. It looks like this brace but its way more supportive for what I need. So as far as support for your ankle this is the correct style. It just doesnt give the support I need. But its still good if you need some support. I hope this helps.

After dealing with some ankle instability and swelling (especially after long days on my feet), I decided to give the WHCOOL Slim-Fit Ankle Brace a shot and honestly, I’m glad I did. First Impressions right out of the box, it felt lightweight but sturdy. The material is breathable, I was a little skeptical about the “slim-fit” claim, but it really does slide into most of my sneakers without making them feel tight or bulky. Fit & Comfort I went with the size based on their chart, and it fit like a glove. The lace-up design lets you adjust the tightness exactly how you want it, and the built-in support pads hug the ankle in a way that feels secure but not restrictive. I’ve worn it for hours at a time walking, standing, even light exercise and it hasn’t caused any discomfort or rubbing. Support & Performance This brace shines when it comes to everyday support. It’s not a heavy-duty medical brace, but for mild sprains, post-injury support, or just extra stability, it does the job well. I noticed less swelling in my ankle after long days, and it gave me the confidence to move more freely without worrying about rolling it again. WHcool slim fit ankle brace perfect exactly what I needed for a sprained ankle which was making it impossible for me to walk. This has a compression sock that I slip on over a small sock that o I already had just for toe and heel and then you need to take your time and put it on so it adjust perfectly be slow and gentle because the means for hooking it up are very very good but not meant to be jerked around there are two lace pulls for the lower foot and the upper foot and I usually do them both at least twice and get the ankle opening centered underneath after I do that I do the other straps around and when I’m finished, it’s a very secure very stable and comfortable brace. I recently also purchased KIZIK high top shoes which the brace easily slips into I bought one brace for each ankle because I was limping so much. I was causing stress on the second ankle that wasn’t sprained. It’s amazing how well I can get around now. I also purchased several other brands which I sent back after trying on because they didn’t provide the secure fit with the comfort. I also have for just short emergencies a little slip on ace bandage, which is helpful if it’s not serious I cannot recommend this brace enough. They really got everything down. Perfect. It has compression. It’s soft. It’s stable and it allowed me to walk when I couldn’t. I wear between an 8 to an 8 1/2 woman’s shoe and the medium was perfect. I also purchased a large, but that was a little too big for me. I sent the large back when I purchased my second medium really a great brace. having had so many different braces in my life I would give it 10 stars if I could.

I was diagnosed with a severe ankle sprain one week ago. I was given a support ankle brace to wear by the doctor. It was ok. It did help, but the material was very thin and it was too large. I decided to try ordering one on Amazon. I liked the reviews for this one and decided to give it a try. This is way better than the one I was given. It's much more durable, much more comfortable, and comes in different sizes. Additionally, it came with a partial compression sock that's open at the front of your foot and fits insides the body of the brace. I could not be more pleased with its performance and comfort. It's very supportive. I'm so glad I got it!

I would give 5 stars but it is complicated to apply. They should put some kind of markings to help guide you. I had mid foot fusion. Need full fusion. This damage has caused a lot of pain and tendinitis in my ankle. With this crazy contraption lol I get the stability in my ankle and helps support my foot a little bit. Thus I can wear this instead of the big boot we all dread. AND I can wear it with my shoes. I do wear a sock with it as I don't like the feeling without. It's breathable. Fits in all of my shoes. Washable so it doesn't get stinky and effectively provides support when needed which makes me able to be more mobile.
