Helix HX7 10W-40 API SN Semi Synthetic Engine Oil for Petrol, Diesel & CNG Cars (3.5 L)

The best semi-synthetic oil have been using it in my Hyundai i20 elite (magna). Engine now is super quite, its runs smoother, cooler and starts more easily than previous synthetic oil used. Also used this oil in my previous Toyota qualis (Standard). It does its job, however did not feel any extra throttle response, or better mileage. But one thing for sure is the cleaning ability. The components when looked through the oil filler cap used to have a light yellowish/brownish tint to it. After just one oil change of the 10W-40, ran 7000km and its all back to shiny silver! No other brands have cleaning agent package as good as the Helix HX7. The car feel lighter and averaging from 18-20 kmpl in city and 21-23 kmpl on the highway vs. the previous used synthetic oil. That works out to a minimum of 10L of fuel saved every 10,000kms oil change,which more than pays for the extra cost. Shell Helix is an excellent oil - it maintains a clean engine and it seems to suit the DPF fitted diesel very well. Highly recommended. ➕ Not the most expensive, high quality, good cold starting in Winter ➖ Nothing, really.

I have purchased this oil via amazon for 1.8k which is way cheaper than market rate. I had called the shell customer care and cross checked the batch number which turned out to be authentic. But this seller is doing something to take the mechanic coupon inside the sealed bottle, or he might have resealed after taking the mechanic coupon. But the seal seemed to be intact. I have raised a complaint against the seller to amazon. Oil is good and it significantly upgrades the performance for your diesel car.

I was initially sceptical about buying this oil for my Toyota liva Etios 1.2 l petrol car but finally purchased and using it for last 100kms post change and I can tell fuel economy has drastically improved. This is semi synthetic oil and not fully synthetic oil There is noticeably better engine performance during extreme outside temperature and start stop traffic due to 10w-40 range viscosity. This grade engine oil is best for Indian climate . 0w 20 or 5w-30/40 fully synthetic is just over kill for Indian cars from Maruti , Honda and Toyota or Hyundai . I would also recommend using liqui moli petrol additives to be used for 30000 +plus km run vehicles to remove deposits from injectors as our Indian fuel quality is very poor unless filled from shell or reliance petrol bunk

Engine noise has reduced alot, and it's running so smooth. Mileage has increased as well. Best engine oil, in semi synthetic category atleast. For city driving or driving in traffic where RPM and Car speed is not very high, the product is the best. But if you drive at a higher speed, say above 80-90 km/L, the engine oil exhausts very fast. I own Santro Xing 2005 model, 3.5 L Shell Helix 10W-40 Semi synthetic engine oil all got consumed in just 4000 kms run, out of which 2000 kms were driven on highways and expressways at high speed.

Using this oil 3L pack since last 1.5 years for my Santro. The car has completed 8k Kms since last oil change in Aug 2018 and still it is super quite and butter smooth. Previously I was changing the oil at 5k Km intervals but this oil is giving good performance even after 8k Kms. Good oil at reasonable price if you do not want to go for fully synthetic 5w40 or better grade. Running my car 100% on CNG, for other users petrol running may reduce the oil change interval as black soot get dissolved in engine oil which makes it dark and thick.
