Disappointed
Received the product but it looks like someone's return. Decided to return the product. Paid close to $300. Not appreciate receiving a new merchandise. Also noticed the workmanship and nothing compared to Le creuset. Saw many reviews on YouTube but don't believe everything you see on YouTube is my lesson for the day.

Nice Pot, But Not Sure It’s Worth the Premium Price
I’ll be totally honest – this is a nice pot with great craftsmanship, and the lightweight design is definitely a plus. However, I don't find it to be any better than the Le Creuset pots I already own. For the significantly higher price, I expected more. While the precision seal and sleek oyster gray color are great features, I just don’t think it justifies the cost compared to other high-end options. That said, I will keep this review updated as the pot continues to season with each use to see if there are any noticeable differences between this and my other pots. Maybe with time, it will prove itself to be worth the investment. Stay tuned!

Expensive, you do have to do some work to keep it nice but it is AMAZING at cooking.
This is expensive, and the sort of pot that you do have to do some work to keep it nice (cleaning off the non enameled edge right away and not throwing it in the dishwasher). But I am impressed with the engineering thought that went into it. The lid stands on its own with the little kickstand. You can invert it and store it in the pot upside down to save some space when storing. It is somewhat lighter than pans like this, but still pretty heavy compared to say a stainless steel pan. Cast iron has a high heat capacity so it holds onto heat very well, making it nice for searing and also for long slow cooking. The enamel is lovely, with a depth and sheen that is impressive. I have no problem using this as a serving dish on the table (use a hot pad). I made brussel sprouts in this (fresh ones) and they were exquisite, browned but not dry, it is actually impressive the difference it makes. But you do have to do work to keep this nice, and it costs a pretty penny, so not something to send off with your kid to the dorm.

My new daily use pot
I got the 3.7 quart version of the Vermicular Oven Pot 2.0, and it's the perfect size for our family of 3. So far, I've made pasta and polenta in it, and the pot was just the right size to make about 4-6 servings. I love that this pot is made in Japan, which, to me, mostly justifies the very high price; it's in the same ballpark price range as Le Creuset. The handle doubles as a kickstand, so you can place the pot lid vertically. It's a really nice feature for smaller kitchens, although I'd recommend a thin towel or paper towel on the countertop to catch any condensation that drips down. The manual notes that the rim of the pot and the edge of the lid are not enameled, so the internal cast iron is exposed. Vermicular recommends drying these edges immediately after washing to avoid rust and to also season the exposed cast iron with some oil. Also, as with any other enameled cast iron, you should use silicone or wooden utensils to avoid damaging the enamel coating. At about 6.4 lbs, the Vermicular is comparable to a high quality stainless steel pot of the same size. The compact size of the 3.7 quart, and the lighter weight means that I can comfortably use this pot for daily cooking. The lighter design does seem to make it heat up quicker than my heavier pots, but that's also a good thing for any every day pot. I haven't really tested, nor do I have a good method for testing, but heat retention probably suffers a little compared to heavier pots as well. However, for our weeknight dinners, this pot works wonderfully.

Lovely pot
This is a great pot for soups and stews. The large pot is a do-it-all type of pot that you can braise, boil, stew, and even bake in. It comes with a cookbook with a lot of great recipes to try - and the milk bread is definitely on the top of my list. With all of that said, make sure you dry it immediately after washing and pay extra attention around the lid and top of the pot - it's still cast iron underneath and will rust if you leave it exposed to wet/water/condensation for even a day. If you do get some rust, most will wipe away easily, but if you need to scrub a bit, grab some coarse salt and a wet sponge and that should handle the rest. Once you're done, dry it meticulously and add a bit of oil to protect it. This is now my go-to pot for the winter for all of the soups and stews I make. The lid is uniquely shaped and at first I didn't really like it - but now I love it. It's so easy to grab, and will stand up on it's side easily as well. Highly recommend.

A beautifully crafted oven pot that can be handed down.
Wow this pot is both highly functional and equally beautiful. The craftsmanship is noticeable right away. I fully believe with proper care I'll be able to hand this down to my children. I love Japanese craftsmanship; regarded worldwide for extraordinary quality - this pot fits comfortably in that tradition of remarkable craftsmanship. I love how this pot can be placed in the center of the dinner table - it's truly oven to table creating a cozy and warm centerpiece for any special occasion or holiday. This oven pot heats up really quick. Also, you don't have to use quite the same high heat as you might with other pots. That's something I was expecting and is common across high-end cookware. The size is perfect. The enamel is gorgeous. I am very impressed with this pot. I love how the lid's handle acts as a stand allowing you to set the lid vertically. I should note that the pot does take extra care to ensure long life. Hand washing and drying is the bulk of it. Seasoning the exposed areas with oil is possible too if desired. This isn't a disposable product like so many things can be these days - this is a product you keep for a very long time. I fully recommend!
