DE-SOLV-IT Sticky Stuff Remover Gel 100ML

Bought this to clean sticky residue off a UPVC window frame. It took a couple of applications on some stubborn sticky areas, and a bit of elbow grease, but the spray worked as advertised. The spray is quite greasy and smells like WD40 but the smell doesn't linger. One can was just enough to clean a large window frame, and the window frame is now shiny and white again.

I had some absolutely evil double-sided sticky tape all over my TV stand, placed a year ago to keep curious kitten paws at bay. Having done its job, the stuff just would not budge - it's as though it had become an integrated part of the surface and I was "removing" it at a rate of about 1cm per hour. So yep, Sticky Stuff Remover did the job, reducing 100 hours' work to 1 hour. Most of it was pretty easy, it does leave things a bit greasy but that can be washed up. There might have been two types of tape used though, because one bit was still hard to remove even with Sticky Stuff Remover, needing about half a dozen applications and some elbow grease. But honestly, that bit was no way coming off otherwise. Also used after a bodge-it-and-scarper handyman had left glue on some of the kitchen floor tiles, and this too came off fine. I don't know if WD40 would also do the trick, I didn't try it, but the small Sticky Stuff Remover bottle seems to go a long way, and it's still way cheaper than a new TV stand!

I first used this wrongly... I sprayed the area, and immediately wiped it.... Needless to say, nothing happened. You really have to leave it on to get it to work, but if you follow the instructions correctly, this product should work a treat! I have used it on delicate glassware, where the price tag and label were stuck on solidly, and it worked brilliantly. I have also had a lot of sellotape stuck on my beautiful wooden cabinets, (courtesy of a small child) and was worried about scraping it off and removing the waxed wood and leaving it with scratches... I was also worried about spraying a chemical on the wood, and damaging it like that, but am happy to report that you really can't tell where the sellotape used to be... The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is that if you apply it on a vertical surface, it starts to slide down...but other than that I would for sure buy this product again!

I’m absolutely chuffed to bits with this product! I have been trying for weeks to wash out and pick off pieces of nicotine chewing gum that’s much harder to remove than normal gum as it sticks to clothing more. Nothing was working to remove it from my favourite nightdress which has ribs in the material so I thought I’d give this a go as a last resort not holding out much hope. I sprayed it on and left it for 7mins as advised then tried to scrape it off but it just wasn’t budging again so I repeated the process using a damp cloth the second time to gently rub it off. It worked SO much better but because of the groves in my nightdress it didn’t completely remove all of it but I thought I’d try and put it through the washing machine again and this time I turned my cycle onto 60 and when it came out every trace of gum was removed from it! Brilliant stuff and I highly recommend for getting Gum or anything sticky out of garments or furniture etc..

My sticky labels were quite determined to stay on the surface. This product worked as described but had to re-apply a few times and rub quite a bit.

Effective, but strong smelling, use in a well ventilated area and if you have a lot to remove do a bit at a time.

I don't think I've ever been inclined to review a product before but this one was so good at its job I felt I had to! A rug had been fixed with high adhesion tape to floorboards, when the rug was taken up the tape stayed firmly attached to the floorboards. Nothing worked, scraper, soaking etc didn't make any impact at all. I bought this just in the vain hope it would work to some degree. It was fantastic! Sprayed it on the tape (it was easy to target the exact area as it has a small jet nozzle) & left for a short time. Due to the strength of the adhesion on the tape I did leave it for about 15 minutes (the instructions say 5-7 mins which would probably be fine for something of lighter adhesion) & when I took my little scraper to it both the glue & the webbing came right up with no effort at all. I was genuinely blown away about how effective it was. All I needed to do afterwards was quick sand to smooth out where the varnish had been affected by the tape & the floor was back to normal! I highly recommend & will keep a bottle in my cupboard from now on!

I've used other sticky stuff remover, but I'd temporarily fixed something made of white plastic with brown parcel tape. Nothing I used made much impact on the resulting grubby residue. I bought this because it's slightly foamy and therefore doesn't simply run off (the white plastic is a door...). It was simplicity itself to use and removed almost all of the unsightly sticky residue. There's still a couple of small patches or I'd have given this 5*. Having said that, it's by far the best I've used.
