1. If your phone is in a case, especially a thick one, or one with a card holder, the unit will not be very steady. Your videos or pictures will probably be out of focus due to instability. Remove the case for better results, or look for something more heavy duty. 2. The little remote comes with a battery in it. It pops in and out of the stick for snapping picts from a distance. You have to pair it with your phone first. To pair it, you have to turn it on, so hold the button down until you see the little blue light. The instructions say 3 seconds, but it was more like 10 seconds on mine. Then pair as usual in your phones bluetooth settings. The remote works fine. I wish there was a loop or something built into it so I could attach an elastic wristband to it. It's very tiny and could easily be lost when separated from the unit. 3. When fully extended as a tripod, it is not very steady. Proportionally, the legs are too short and don't have a wide enough spread for the full length of the extension plus the weight of a phone on top. The legs don't lock in place. Even if you push the extension pole down to the ground for added balance, it will probably still sway due to the weight of your phone and the insubtantial construction of the legs. I even duct taped it to a table and still got sway blur. I turned on video stabilization in the camera settings, but no luck. It worked better when extended only half way and taped down. 4. The legs are a little tricky to release. Just kind of stick your thumb into the middle of the bottom of the handle and press outward on one of the edges of the triangle shape. They are snapped together quite securely. I also opened them by sticking the capped end of a pen in there. That worked fine. See picture. 5. There is a little thumb screw lock on one side of the hinge. See picture. Loosen and tighten it for adjusting and maintaining your desired angle. Make sure you loosen it before closing up the unit because it will probably strip easily. 6. The design is very clever. The phone holding wings pop outward and are lined with a grippy material that hold the phone securely. The phone holding part of the unit goes from 2.5 inches to almost 4 inches. See picture. It is tricky to stretch open because the inside spring seems really strong. 7. To fold it up like it was packaged, fold in the wings, twist camera holder so it is lengthwise with the pole, loosen the thumb screw, slide the pole extensions together, press the legs together and squeeze until they click snapped, make sure remote is in place, fold camera holder part down over remote. Conclusion - for about 10 bucks, I don't think you'll find anything better or more versatile. It folds down to less than 8 inches, so it's great for travel. It's the perfect, versatile, economic choice for amateurs or hobbiests. Tripod is probably best used indoors and not fully extended. Would be much better if the legs locked or had feet for more stability. Also would be better if the extender poles were stronger. One last improvement would be a way to attach an elastic band to the remote, or some other feature that would help keep it from being lost when seperated from the stick. For my purposes, it's a great option as a selfie stick and indoor table top tripod. At this price point, all limitations considered, I think it's a great little gadget.

So I am a small content creator and film and everything on my phone, I needed some sort of small tripod to hold up my phone so the content I film is much better. I chose this since previous reviews were great and I needed something very affordable. This is 100% such a good investment for someone like me who needs something sturdy to hold their phone while filming and makes things 2 times easier. It even comes with a small remote you can connect by Bluetooth and with a press of a button it can start recording for you! You don’t have to reach to your phone screen to press record, the Bluetooth remote does it for you! I also love how you can extend it a lot so even from the floor it can go up a lot. It’s light, easy to ease and put away, and it can even act as a selfie stick so you can take it anywhere you need to! Best thing ever I love this!

1. The product shows that the selfie stick will be 103 cm when expanded, it is smaller around 60 cm. There is no 7 stage expanding of the selfie stick. It only has 5 stages. 2. Very difficult and could not open the Bluetooth device to change the battery. I have requested amazon to return the product.
