Supremely elegant whiskey
My first Irish single pot still whiskey. It will certainly not be my last! Exceptional stuff with exemplary balance between the distillate and cask influences. For this reason, anyone instead seeking an absolute sherry bomb may be disappointed. The total maturation period here is usually between 10 and 13 years. There is a slight youthfulness to this spirit which, in combination with the classic baking spices redolent of the Irish pot still style, provides a pleasantly warming kick. The ex-Bourbon and first-fill Olorosso sherry butt aging presents beautifully. The nose alone is worth the price of admission. The slightly oily texture is also lovely, as is the medium-long finish. Overall, this leans towards a dessert-style whisky. It is exceptionally food-friendly as whiskies go: delicious with a crème brûlée, charcuterie, a handful of nuts, ice cream or simply marshmallows. This would make a lovely gift, pleasing to both beginners and experienced palates alike whether they typically prefer malts, bourbons, ryes or Irish. Mine arrived in an elegantly designed cardboard box, and the charmingly squat bottle is even stout enough to be sea-worthy. This whisky’s unpeated too, so if you’re unsure whether your beneficiary enjoys smoky drams, it’s less likely to get a polarised reception. This is fairly priced in my opinion, if verging on slightly expensive. That said, these days it’s still a far superior value proposition to the grossly overpriced Scotch single malt market. Here, one gets what one pays for. Treat yourself and thank me later!

Great tasting whiskey
Bought as a present which was greatly received. Good value for money. I have been told it tastes great, not peaty. Very smooth and easy to drink with just ice. Comes in nice presentation box. Good quality Irish whiskey.

Great whiskey. Horror delivery
Very good whiskey. Horror service. Stuck in the house for two days. Delivery kept being cancelled just before arriving at my building. Ruined my schedule for two full days. I could not even walk my dog . Awful experience!

Absolutely delicious
Like another reviewer here I'm not a connoisseur and very much at the start of my journey through the world of whisky. I've got about 25 bottles, and I have previously enjoyed the Redbreast 12. But let me say this bottle is absolutely outstanding - on the nose it's those unmistakable traditional sherry notes - sweet and thick. It's sweeter than the usual 12 year old, but so very smooth like the 12. Absolutely delicious, and competitively priced when on offer.

Fabulous , really gob-smackingly fabulous and oh so so smooth . You will NOT be disappointed .
I firstly want to say that I'm not in any shape or form an expert ,but just an ordinary punter , who occasionally has a whiskey or whisky , even blended scotch which I'm not snobbish about , but i think its excellent from some scotch producers . But this redbreast lustau was recommended to me by a whiskey expert from a whisky book as one of the whiskeys/whiskys to taste before , you pop your clogs . You know who I mean . Please don't be put off by the 46%.strength . It is really really so very very smooth . i wanted to believe scotch was the premier whisky . But they do rest on their laurels a little bit , and produce some real fiery dross along with some fabulous stuff , but i really should have known better , having tasted an excellent Bushmills a few years back and thought it was absolutely great stuff . And should have known that that whiskey was really not a one off at all . But NOW i am really proud to say it , on this occasion Irish is really the BEST, and in particularly THIS REDBREAST LUSTAU, is the smoothest whiskey , i have ever tasted . Please believe me when i say you will NOT be disappointed . Its so smooth , its fabulous , and although expensive, well for me at any rate , i would gladly only buy this stuff again . Please i recommend you try it . Until i maybe get a chance to taste a 1963 Dalmore.( Have to win the lottery on that one. LOL) . Its really such good stuff... the Redbreast Lustau . Real ...nectar ....Superb.

Wow
Wasn’t sure before I tried it as I love the standard 12 year old but wow, the sherry finish gives it an extra dimension I wasn’t expecting, drink it neat to appreciate the complexity, nutty fruit and all the usual Christmas stuff you’d expect from sherry but with a long mouth finish and honey notes I just loved
