This is one of my favorite accessories, nice mold. I say it's more of a gold, a dark gold, just as pictured.....

Will paint stick to this? If so, what kind? I need this to be another color?

It is made of plastic, but I'm sure paint could adhere to it.

No, it's all plastic! It's a toy not a reproduction. Safe for a kid to use. Quite ridiculous for a grown man because of the small size.

What dose the Roman letters say?

The letters "YNHDNIEDVK" on the hilt of the sword make no sense to me, and I believe they were never intended to have a meaning other than as a part number of the sword at the manufacturer's office.
