Perfect mug for camping or everyday use...
This is a wonderful mug! I bought it as a camping mug, but I've ended up using it as an everyday mug while overseas. It does a good job insulating liquids...the outside of my single walled Snow Peak mug tends to heat up very quickly (duh!), and the contents tend to cool off rather rapidly...this keeps my tea hot long enough for me to finish it leisurely while never getting so hot I can't pick it up. It does get toasty right after putting boiling water in, but not hot enough to burn me. It's also easier to drink from than the single walled mugs since the lip doesn't heat up quite so much. I do have a set of Hot Lips for my single walled mug, but they tend to fall off or get sandy/gritty when outdoors...I like not having to deal with that. Like the single walled titanium mug, you don't get a metallic taste when you drink, either. Finally, while I haven't eaten anything from it yet, I've drank water, tea, soju, and gatorade from it (and several combinations thereof), and all it's taken is a quick rinse with water to clean it out with no smell from the previous contents... As to construction, it's well made and very understated. The pictures on the Amazon website do it justice...the outside is smooth to the touch with just a hit of texture, while the inside has more texture, but is not rough. The only seam is on the rim weld where the outside meets the flared inner cup. They did a very good job of smoothing the weld line...it's uniform, small, and very smooth. Overall a fantastic, if slightly pricey mug for camping or everyday use. I haven't tried to actually crush it, but the outside is plenty stiff. It probably wouldn't stand up to dropping a 50 lb pack on it, but I don't foresee accidentally crushing it when it's packed. I'll definitely be checking out their other sizes!

The best cup in the world
It's a virtually indestructible, eco minded, beautiful cup... it has already paid for itself with free coffee from generous hotel personnel, airline stewards etc. Everyone in the world should own one - just don't lose it! Also it's amazing the contrast between how hot it keeps the beverage and how normal the temperature is on the outside of the cup - I guess the magic is titanium with vacuum between. Incredibly light weight which seals the deal -- no excuse not to bring it with you. You won't regret it.

Lightweight premium insulated mug
The primary reason you should consider this mug is due to its weight, of mug is 3.5oz (99g) and lid 1oz(29g). This mug nests in my Toaks 750ml for making coffee (nesting is a loose fit, however a perfect place to store a drying cloth). For, "coffee outside," I pair this mug with an Ortlieb Coffee Filter (a terribly named pour over device) and the GSI Javamill. I been happy with this mug in the backcountry and I have also started using it every morning for coffee inside. I stopped using my stoneware mugs because this isolates so much better in my cold house. Be forewarned, mug doesn't seal and will spill if you place it on the wrong rock, but thats not why you should buy it. Keep in mind this mug is twice as expensive as stainless alternatives and your more likely to get a secure lid from a hydroflask/yeti/klean/etc product, however these will weigh 10-14oz. Carrying this mug is not ultralight, but nests and is the lightest/most premium option on the market.

Excellent cup, it keeps cold thing cold, and warm things warm
Its looks exactly like the photo, its a cup, its insulated, however being that the mouth is as large as it is (no complaints) it doesn't maintain temps for very long, better than a normal coffee cup though. Where this titanium double wall cup excels is probably where you'd thing if you've ever poured boiling water in a single walled titanium cup and tried to pick it up bare-handed. It's great at not melting the skin off your favorite hand while drinking hot beverages. Great quality, better hand protection that single wall cups, exactly 100grams (3.53ounces) for you ultralight gram weenies.

Snow Peak vs Hydro Flask
I purchased the Snow Peak H450 cup after owning the small flask and being impressed with its high-quality manufacturing and attention to detail. I also purchased a Hydro Flask insulated mug, so I decided to do a side-by-side comparison to see how they stack up in terms of temperature retention. Temperature Retention Comparison (No Lids): I tested both cups by pouring 180°F water, heated with a Fellow kettle, and measured the temperature over 15 minutes. Here are the results: Snow Peak H450 (100.4g): • 5 mins: 155°F • 10 mins: 144°F • 15 mins: 135°F Hydro Flask (269.4g): • 5 mins: 153°F • 10 mins: 145°F • 15 mins: 139°F After repeating the test a couple of times, the results were about the same. Without a lid, both cups perform similarly, though the Hydro Flask did slightly better in holding heat over time. When I used the Hydro Flask with its lid, the temperature only dropped to 165°F after 15 minutes, so a lid is definitely recommended for optimal performance, especially if you’re not drinking your hot beverage quickly. Handling & Comfort: The Snow Peak cup was pleasantly warm to the touch when filled, but never hot or uncomfortable to hold or touch to your lips. It was nice to sip from and warmed my hands slightly, which I appreciated—it’s a tactile reminder that you’re about to enjoy a hot drink. In contrast, the Hydro Flask’s exterior stayed cool, which can be deceiving when you forget just how hot the drink inside is. Design & Use: Aesthetically, the Snow Peak cup is beautiful, with a minimalist, functional design that weighs just 100 grams—perfect for camping or backpacking where every ounce matters. However, it doesn’t come with a lid, which is a downside for those who want to keep their beverage warm longer. The Hydro Flask, on the other hand, has a comfortable handle, soft plastic exterior coating, and comes with a lid. It’s slightly heavier but costs less and probably makes more sense for the average person looking for an insulated coffee mug. Final Thoughts: The Snow Peak H450 is an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts who value a lightweight, well-crafted cup, but keep in mind that a lid is almost essential for better heat retention. For everyday use, the Hydro Flask might be a more practical option with its included lid and similar performance at a lower price point.

Buy if you need a Ti lightweight cup that can be stacked, and is doubled walled. Do not buy if you are looking for a vacuum insulated thermal cup, because its not vacuum insulated. Watermarks are also rather visible.

The Snow Peak stackable titanium double wall mug—now this is serious gear. Very serious. Snow Peak—they don’t mess around. High-end, precision, beautiful stuff. And this mug? It shows. First of all—titanium. Strong, incredibly light, doesn’t rust, doesn’t pick up weird tastes. People love titanium. Campers, hikers, serious outdoor people—they swear by it. And this is top-tier titanium. No shortcuts. Double wall insulation—very important. Keeps your coffee hot, your drink cold, and your hands comfortable. No burning your fingers, no rushing to drink it before it cools. It holds temperature extremely well thanks to that air gap design. And then—stackable. This is where it gets smart. These mugs nest together perfectly, saving space in your pack. Space is everything outdoors. If it stacks, it wins. Simple. The weight—almost nothing. You pick it up, you think, “Is this even here?” That’s what you want when you’re carrying gear all day. Ultra-efficient. Now, let’s be honest—it’s not cheap. People see the price, they say “wow.” But then they use it, and they get it. This is not a throwaway mug. This is a lifetime piece. Maybe longer. Also—important note—you don’t put this directly on a flame. That’s the trade-off with double wall. But for drinking? Outstanding. Overall: premium, ultra-light, beautifully engineered. Not for everyone—but if you know, you know. A top product. A winner.

It's expensive, but I love this mug, bought it for back country trips but sometimes use it at home, extremely light, durable and stylish!
