DO NOT BUY. This is a scam across Amazon. If you want to connect two devices to internet using one outlet then this is not for you. This is actually called an ethernet coupler and will not allow two devices to connect to internet at the same time. Look into an ethernet SWITCH or HUB. Please be certain what you need this for before buying it

Two of the same units are in the packet but the units are not quite as the description in the product describes. Both units are required for the splitters to work. What the units do is to splits a single RJ45 Ethernet wall socket into two RJ45 ports. You need to plug one of the units into the wall socket and the other unit into the RJ45 socket on the other end of the Cat5/6 cable. Which is normally a RJ45 socket in a 19” rack in the coms room or somewhere by the Internet router. Then two Ethernet enabled devices to be run down a single Cat5/6 cable. This function is achieved by the one port on the device using the standard data pairs on the wall RJ45/Cat5/6 cable and the other port using the two pairs of the wallRJ45/Cat5/6 cable that would normally be used for the power on a PoE connection. The pairs that would carry the power on a PoE connection in the Cat5/6 cable are not used if no PoE switch and device is not installed. These adaptor units use those unused pairs for a second data channel. So, the units turn a single wall RJ45 socket in to two RJ45 sockets. If you want to have both the ports connected to your network/Internet you need to plug both ports of one of the one adaptor into a connected switch or router. Then at the other end port 1 and port 2 of the second adaptor will have network/internet available on both ports. When used as above the adaptor dose split a single wall RJ45 socket into two outlets and both work at the speed of the switch ports they are connected into.

Returned neither port works plugged into two different routers in each of four ports and changed to 6 different devices. still nothing waste of time and money

Two splitters were delivered, but neither of them worked on the right hand ethernet connection. Very annoying as it took me a while to trach down what the problem was, testing all the components.

Arrived promptly but they do not work, tried both in the package and neither work, waste of time and money and effort, yet another Chinese faulty cheap crap
