It works, but seems not to be tolerant to non media items left on a USB stick. I had an older USB stick that had lots of junk on it. It started reading the stick to generate thumbnails and then black screened. I tried it again with a brand new stick that had only media files on it and it worked. Playback is fine. No stuttering or audio dropouts or synch issues. The UI is sluggish and the remote needs to be pointing exactly at the device. But for the price it’s fine. Would I want to spend hours browsing media on this? No. Is it fine if you load up a USB stick with a limited number of movies and go straight to them? It’s good enough, not a premium experience, but an acceptable one.

Never buy this for digital signage use! It will show a black screen or shut down within 6 hours of running simple MP4 video on a repeating loop - In fact, don't buy it for any reason, the product states it has UK support, but it doesn't, it takes 3 days for them just to process a request via their website. It's a terrible product, with no support at all...

OMG Where do I start.. so I have 100’s if not 1000’s of movies from the past 10-15 years I can play from my SSD or external hard drive or a simple USB A stick ( 128g max ) For me to be able to play movies from 2005 in 720p & is so many formats it’s easy of use but playability is on another level Its future proof, the only con is it’s 60Hz , but most TV’s if not all will go down to 60hz even if it’s a 120hz tv So its functional is unmatched! Every movie I have tried from MP4 to x265 x264 to HDR 10bit 2160p you name it it connects & plays & im not tech savvy so it’s a joy This OS is so easy .. go to movies & boom watch what you want, I have not used the APP’s as my TV’s are 2034 models there is no need As I have a smart & an android tv that are bran new, but I’d imagine if you gave an older Tv say 10 years old I’d imagine this would work just fine & you would get all the channels I bought it for movie nights , curtains closed , I don’t own the UHD physical disk , but i have the mkv x265 file & it works perfectly For the price it is up there with the £/€300 models if not on par the very same or better I know I’ll have this for years to come it’s movies on the go, stay with family & go hey I have the new - - movie want to watch it & pull it out of my bag It’s amazing I’m buying another & I’ll add video footage to show how good but how child friendly the operation system is! It’s so easy to use Yes I 100% recommend this & I’ve bought many this is the king imo & so much bank for ur buck!

My Laptop is quite old and only a dual core Intel CPU. I am finding that it struggles to play newer movies as I am told that the latest compression routines need a quad core CPU to play smoothly. I was struggling to justify spending another £400 for a new computer as I only watch movies and surf online and really, my old laptop is perfectly adequate for surfing online. A More knowledgeable friend told me about this dedicated media player for a fraction of the £400 cost and I have never looked back since. The Sumvision Micro 2+ is a dedicated media player so it can’t do the other stuff that a laptop can. But for playing media, its dedicated chipset is perfect. It can play all modern movies. music and photos. It has AV and HDMI output so you can plug it into your big screen TVs. Which is of course a damn sight better than watching on a laptop anyway (and sounds better!) It can upscale some older movies I had to 1080p and most importantly, there was no stuttering and blocky artifacts. Being a dedicated media player also mean that it was very easy to use even for a technophobe like myself. It also has some dedicated media functions that I don’t find on my laptop. For example, it has a dedicated subtitles button that allow you to adjust the font, the size, the colour and the position of your subtitles. It also seems to work a lot better than my laptop which sometimes cannot render some subtitles. The laptop seems to dislike certain subtitles and just give out random symbols and gibberish. I could never work out why it does that, but this player renders all my subtitles perfectly. This is really good media player and the very small size makes it easy for me to take my movies watching with me on holidays. Definitely 5 stars out of 5!

I have been using the Micro 2+ for a while now, I purchased this after my Sony bluray usb started getting sound drop outs.. Few pluses for the Micro2+ but few minuses too... Sound quality - This did not recognize the composite video or audio with the cable provided or any other cable so I used coaxial cable provided which worked so used that.The only thing is sound has to be turned up via amp quite considerably - good sound separation and good clear centre speaker sound, very clear speech sound. Picture quality varies, seems the bigger the tv set used the lower the resolution - i tried the micro2+ on my bedroom 32 inch and picture was not sharp - on my living room 42 inch hd the picture looks out of focus.If you use the zoom on the remote you can see the picture sharpness worsen the larger you go.Colours seem muted and on sky scenes the blue's look faded.Not too happy about the picture quality at all.Picture is very dark too, i had to turn the brightness right up on my tv and there is no menu on the Micro 2+ to do this with.I would say forget the Micro2+ if you are using it on a large screen tv.Picture looks un natural and very digitized on any size tv. On the plus side, like i said good sound seperation , very small - tiny.Handles most formats with no problem,remote works well but takes a round battery which can be a pain to find and replace - seems a lot of people have issues with the remote but mine works well and is easy to use.All in all not too bad but at the same time hard to recommend, I won't be sending this back but I will be looking for something better than this - you certainly get what you pay for.Glad I only paid £21 for this on amazon.co.uk..Would rate this average 5/10.....

A great little video player, and for me, a big improvement on the earlier versions. First off, if using just for a video player is really a simple plug and play set up via an HDMI cable. For those new to media players of this kind, before you play a video, you go to settings, and choose "Display Resolution" then t video format, for example 1920x1080 30 if you TV is 1080p and the video is 30 frames per second (see attached picture). On this upgraded version on my 20 year old LG 32 inch TV, I even get dedicate 25p and 30p framerates too, along with the regular 24/50/60p. But not on a more modern TV where the options are simply 50p for pal regions or 60p if not a pal region. It does handle 4K (2160 UHD) probably best to have the player's "Display Resolution" set to Auto for this. For me I film videos in 4K (actually 2160p) at 30p but TV is 1080p and this media player set to "1920x1080p 30p" and the video still plays very smoothly. This also allows me to preview the same video file I intend uploading to the web etc, without the need to make a smaller 1080p version just to preview it. It plays most video formats too, including H.265, and older file formats. One big drawback for those used to the older models, it does not like very large Hard Drives with 100s of folders, it takes a time for the contents to show. To get around this, I'm using high capacity SSD high speed sticks with videos in folders and it works great, I'm currently using a 1TB high speed one (as seen in one picture) and this works perfectly. Yes I do recommend this product, especially as now I can keep my own footage video library all in their as shot format, even after editing.

Je n'avais pas de port USB sur ma TV mais seulement 2 port HDMI pour lire mon disque dur externe. Ce produit lit tous les formats vidéo même ceux que je ne pouvais pas lire sur d'autres TV. Simple à configurer. Attention à la prise secteur qui est anglaise : acheter un adaptateur pur régler ce problème.

Se all'epoca era un'ottimo compromesso qualità prezzo, ora credo che ci siano prodotti migliori e più ricchi di funzionalità. Unico neo: l'alimentatore incluso nella confezione aveva formato inglese, ma amazon per questo disguido mi ha rimborsato una quota! Grande Amazon!

If your tv is a bit outdated like mine to play videos. This is it. So happy and was easy to set up. I just had buy a hdmi cable, aaa batteries and a uk gpu plug for au plug. Thanks so much
