This unit is one of the best units for copying data from Linux EXT4, Windows NTFS, and RAID 1 drives (I have not tried recovering data from a RAID 0, 5 or 6 array) - both 3.5" and 2.5" drives work with this unit. Yes, it may be a single drive unit but that's what makes it better than multi-drive units - it's able to concentrate on one thing.The key is the chipset in this unit. This unit has the chipset that can do all this. Yes, depending on the chipset you will either have a brilliant enclosure for copying and data recovery, like this enclosure does, or it won't go very well at due to the chipset incorrectly reading the data on the disk.

Nice little unit that works fine with my 10TB 3.5" drive. I made the mistake of focusing on the product reviews instead of the product description. This enclosure is 100% plastic. Not really sure why so many reviews talk about it being a nice metal enclosure. No metal to be found on this.

Great - love that can hold desktop computer hard drive.

I bought this when I select buy again on a previous model. It's good enough to keep I guess, but1) Plastic not metal.2) It pulses all the time, which is less than idea in a dark room.3) Having the usb in and power in on the same end as the usb out is not great.Having the usb hub built in is nice, if not I'd definitely return it.I just discovered that it doesn't support smartmon controls. The versionI bought previously did, this one is what I got redirected to when Ihit buy again. It didn't say a newer version was available it just wentto this one. At this point I'm returning it.

Terrible. It is like a plastic clamshell for the eggs. If you want to "hard boil" your hard drive- you are welcome! Returned for refund. Never used!

I got this because it works with all my old and new hard drives. I always pull the hard drives from my computers and laptops before recycling them, so I can use them as backup drives. I've used it on Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, and it recognizes it right away. It didn't need any software or drivers to work. It included a US power adapter. The data cable supports USB 3 and USB-C ports. I didn't think I was going to use the expansion ports, but I used them to transfer files from my flash drives directly to one of my storage drives.We sometimes lose power during bad storms. I was curious to see what would happen if I had the enclosure turned on with a hard drive connected to my computer and I lost power. I turned off the power at the outlet that the enclosure was plugged into. It turned off and disconnected from my computer, as expected. It automatically reconnected to my computer after turning the power back on at the outlet. I didn't have to use the power switch on the enclosure to turn it off and on again, which I like.

Pas de chichi à part un bandeau led autour du boitier, pour le reste, c'est mené à l'essentiel. On ouvre le boitier, on branche son disque en Sata, on branche le boitier, on relit en USB le boitier à un PC, et c'est parti.On note au passage la bonne idée de faire un câble USB qui ira à la fois dans les ports type A et les ports type C, très bien dans une période où les premiers commencent à disparaître au profit des deuxièmes. Pour le reste, tout fonctionne. Dans mon cas je voulais vérifier si j'avais un disque HS ou si c'était mon PC qui n'arrivait plus à le lire...Et il est bien HS !
