4U Server Cabinet Case - Rackmount Server Chassis with 7 PCI Slots, Lockable with Key

The case does everything one could want in a general computer case; it encloses computer components. There are no frills in a cheap case, but that's why one would purchase a case like this one. The case is made of surprisingly thin steel, and that initially seemed like a bad thing, but it does make the case light and yet it still seems to be reasonably sturdy. In the end, it seems to be more of a feature than a quality issue. This fits a standard 19" rack. A couple of items are of note: 1) The case sports two plastic handles. These are clearly for use if you're using sliding rails. They are not sufficiently sturdy to use them to lift the case. 2) The fan that comes with the case is single-speed and very cheap. Replace it with a Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM (ASIN B07C5VG64V) fan to quiet the server and allow for fan control. Also, the fan mount contains a thin dust filter, but no sort of grill to keep the dust filter out of the fan blades. Adding a grill between the dust filter and the fan is a good idea. After getting this case installed in my rack and living with it for a bit, there are a couple of things that are wrong with it: 1) The aforementioned filter that was threatening to be sucked into the fan? There's no good way to clean it. To access the filter, you need to remove the fan. To remove the fan, you need to remove the drive bay in front of it. To remove that bay, you pretty much need to remove the whole drive mount assembly from the front of the case. Just something of which to be aware. 2) This *is* a rack mount case. There are two ways it can be mounted, either fixed using the flanges on the front of the case or via sliding rails. Sliding rails are convenient and the case does have threaded holes along the sides for sliding rails, so I went that way. Some reasonable rails to match this case are the Rosewill rails (ASIN B0D9NL6WJW). There are nicer rails out there, but these are relatively cheap and work well. At least the rails would have worked well if the holes for sliding rails were drilled to match a standard 1U, 2U, etc. Rather, the holes are aligned vertically at the midpoint of the case, meaning that the holes fall at the bottom of 2U from the top. That makes mounting the case using the existing holes require a 1/2U gap at the top. So, new holes are your friend! If you don't already have them, NEIKO 02639A 6-Inch Automatic Center Punch (ASIN B08KGF7ZFQ), Metric Tap & Drill Bit Set, 2Pcs M4 (ASIN B0F291HS9Q), and Piutouyar M3-M12 Adjustable Tap Wrench Handle (ASIN B09F312N5R). Measure the new holes to fall 1/2U below the existing holes, punch, drill, and tap. That'll fix the alignment within your rack. 2a) I'm not sure if this is particular to those Rosewill sliding rails or if this would happen with any rails, but only the front two holes can be used. When I put screws in the rear rail holes, something was hitting when I tried to push the case in. After removing those rear screws, everything worked perfectly.

It has flaws, but is an affordable option in an otherwise undersaturated market: rack mounted standard PC cases. I would love to have my computer or nas in a rack mounted chassis rather than a tower that has to take up desk space. Building in this thing is not bad, but the drive rack is a pain, and needs to be uninstalled in a very annoying manor in order to do just about anything. Also, the front panel cables and connectors look as though they could route through a gap in the drive rack, but they can't, and instead have to go through it and eat up space that could otherwise be used by a drive. This means that the drive capacity is technically 1 less than advertised. I also wouldn't mind this thing being a bit deeper, to allow for more space for drive cables and cable management in general. I tried, but there's not much you can do. I will also mention that the power led is is ridiculous and will light up a whole room. I believe the sheer luminosity of the thing will come across in the pictures. Overall, it works and I wish there were more options for this use case that were of a litter higher quality but not hundreds.

The good: For the price, this is an excellent option for a small rack-mount case. The 4U size lets it hold a full-height graphics card, which is nice. The case is reasonably roomy, supports 6 full-size hard disks, and has two 5 1/4" drive bays. It will fit multiple different motherboard sizes. The case doesn't have the sharp edges common for budget cases, so my hands aren't cut and bloody after installing. The less good: The rack that holds the drive bays is screwed in, which makes it far less convenient for maintenance than if there were tooless clips. The cover uses standard case screws instead of thumb screws, which would have been nice. The front panel is a Key lock only. It would have been nice to have an option to not have to keylock the front panel. The hard drive cage is only deep enough to cover the screws for hard disks that have three screw mounts on each side. (Front, middle, back) Hard disks that have only two mount points (Front and Back) like some NAS hard drives, can only be mounted with one set of screws instead of two. The Bad: The cables for the USB connectors on the front panel are situated in a way that requires them to be run through the drive cage to connect to the motherboard. This means that in order to install or remove hard disks you have to unplug the USB connector from the motherboard. This is a horrible design flaw. Additionally, it means you can't use the 7th hard drive space. Having to remove a cable from the motherboard to replace a hard drive is inexcusable in my opinion.

The value on this thing is amazing. Yes it's cheaply made. Yes it comes without the high end options. It's amazing for the price though. It is 100% fully functional and usable out of the box. It fit on the rack perfectly and everything fit inside great. It's all metal, so I expect years and years of use from it. At this price point, I was expecting to find alterations needed.

It serves its purpose, feels really cheap and the front fan doesn’t have a long cable to connect to the motherboard. Other than that is works great

Amazing quality and just fits and works. Could use more fan mounts but other than that great case to build in and didn't have to break anything to get it together

The case gets the job done but it needs some serious redesigning to make this a 5 star product. First you can only use HDDs that had the three screw points to securely screw the HDD to the mount as only the rear and middle screw point can be screwed in (this is awful if you don't have HDDs with those mounting points). Second the handle is plastic which can break if not handled incredibly careful which isn't something you want in a heavy server chassis. Third the front panel connectors could be redesigning as some ports are not super glued in while others are, the USB ports also interfere with installing the main bracket, and since it is very thick it's impossible to bypass it, I had to remove mine because of how annoying it was to fit it back in with that USB port. It also only comes with one intake fan in the front which isn't ideal. It's cheap so I can't really complain but if they fix all these issues for only $100 I'd say it's 5 stars.

It isn't the best but the price is low. It doesn't feel super quality but it works and for the price it works as described
