So far, so good
I bought this same grill pan many years ago and I loved it but the underside of the cover started to peel. Actually it started to bubble up shortly after I had bought it years ago. I bought this item to replace that one and I think they redid the cover because it's not bubbling up or peeling and not even discoloring like my old one did. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because this is a great grill pan for the microwave. It cooks sausage and salmon like no one's business.

Meat Cooking Has Entered the Space Age (as promised)
I grew up with the birth of the microwave oven. It was novel and amazing and the dream was you would never use a conventional oven again. I cooked hamburgers, tv dinners, just about everything in the microwave. Restaurants began to use them regularly. But, after a short while, it became obvious that the food...was terrible. Soggy breads, dry meats, nuclear-hot-burnt-to-a-crisp. I remember the day going to restaurants I would ask if a certain item was microwaved cooked, and if the waiter said yes, I would order something else. But I got to thinking that there is that silver-foil that comes in some tv dinners and you use in the microwave. And I wondered if there was something similar. Enter this pan. I've had it for some months now and I cook every kind of meat in it to fabulous success. I just had jumbo shrimp this morning and I'm cooking spareribs right now. I've so gotten my money's worth from this pan. I spend $8 on meat for 2 meals. Some pointers for new users: the pan works like a real oven. Most times in microwave cooking, you set to high and blast away. My microwave defaults to it and you have to go out of your way to set it to not high. But some food will dry faster cooking on high. There will be a point you cook turkey, pork, chicken, fish and it will be sitting in a pile of boiling water in this pan. But if you keep it on high, that water will steam out and your food will go dry. Learn the power of cooking on medium. I have my 1/2 pound of porkribs on medium for 10 mins. They will be juicy and moist and well-cooked. Yes, you lose some of the microwave's hallmark speed, but you can't have everything. It WILL sear the bottom, but cooking on lower temps will do it less because there will be a lot of moisture inside. The pan stays hot for hours. I'm serious. Hours. CLEAN IT RIGHT AWAY. Because it stays hot for so long, and there WILL be meat residue inside, it will bake onto that pan with a vengeance. If you pour it out and clean it immediately, it takes 30 seconds. No joke. It's no stick, but not if you let it sit. I believe the pan works best with relatively low fat foods. I mean, I got pork ribs and it's doing okay, but I cooked some 15% fat hamburger and it turns into a volcano because that fat burns off and is on the insanely hot plate. I've cooked a lot of hamburgers and usually get the super lean. I'd say get two, but there's no reason to get two. It cleans so fast and is (so far) extremely durable. My ribs are done, so I'll leave it at that.

Recipe book could use some work.
Don't expect much from the recipe book. It's got some of those uncommon recipes for dinner and desserts that most people don't make. All I want to know is how to fry some eggs, cook burgers, cook steaks, cook hash browns--you know, every day stuff. Dear Microhearth, make a common foods recipe book please. Otherwise, the pan does pretty well. I cooked steak and asparagus tonight. Hopefully it will save more electricity than cooking in the big stove. I think this thing is a bit pricey though. (maybe it will pay for itself in electricity saved. Time will tell)

Lives up to the Hype
I bought my grill back in 2017 when I was living in a rooming house and had access to a microwave but no stove. I used it for a while, but when that job ended I packed it up. Recently I began cooking bacon in my microwave and I needed some way to cook it without getting grease everywhere. I tried a few methods, then pulled out my grill and tried it. This grill is a substantial unit, heavy and well-built. When I cook with it the handles on the side remain cool enough so that I can pull it out of the microwave, and the top is likewise cool enough to handle. It's easy enough to clean up. Even if you let it sit, just run some hot water on it and it's easy to wipe down. The best part is it actually grills your food. I have begun to use it to het up pre-cooked sausage patties, and when I take the lid off I hear a very satisfying sizzle. The patties have grill marks on them. The one downside is that they don't heart perfectly evenly so if I leave them in too long I'll get some burnt places here and there, but if I were cooking in a pan I couldn't just put them on the burner and forget them, either. In any case, I like that I can now cook in my microwave without grease spattering everywhere, and I'm especially happy to hear that sizzle. This grill promises that it will cook your food more naturally than just sticking it in the microwave, and it really does work. Of course, the grill itself gets plenty hot so be careful, and do remember to flip your food and move it around a bit when it's cooking to avoid scorching.

good for one person meal cooking
It does work but has draw backs. It does cook well, not to drying, & gets good crust. takes about 25min to cook single large chicken breast. But has drawbacks. First is price, can buy several grill pans for one of these. Second hard to clean, cant wash in dish washer, must be soaked and hand washed with non metal sratching utensils. Third, it is small barely fits half chicken breast. The lid will not fit tight and slatter inside microwave. Fourth you must watch make sure no sparks come from pan. If any scratch is open in pan or lid exposing metal microwave will spark risking fire. Or grease from meat can spark fire. Fifth, it gets very hot after multiple uses, recommended for one piece cooking. It is good for quick cooking for one person meals if don't want stand over stove, but still must be close to watch. If doing whole family cooking best to do it in grill pan or oven

Grilled great
I live in a small room with only a microwave. I didn't know these things existed but I was craving a burger so I searched and found this. 3 minutes and my burger was cooked to perfection. 8 minutes and my chicken breast was great. 12 minutes and my steak fries were crispy. 5 minutes and my ribeye steak was medium rare. Genius!

Lili

Amazing
I have used this grill in my microwave and have found it to be great to grill meat products like beef burgers and sausages etc.as well as steak and chicken. It is versatile for cooking toasted sandwiches. There is a useful recipe book to get you started. The speed of cooking is impressive and the “grille” stripes look professional. It is easy to clean . I am pleased with my purchase.

"I am impressed."
Though it may take some time to fully master, after cooking my first plate of meatballs, I can see the potential. I can already tell that I'm going to use this cooker for a long time to come. Combining the convection style of cooking with the speed of a microwave is just brilliant. Along with the speed is the absence of the typical convection cooking heat, and the annoying reality of airborne food cooking odours, is a giant plus for me. That's why I stopped using an air fryer. The fact that the container stays cool to the touch is an added bonus. I look forward to mastering this cooker and enjoying years of fast, heat less and odourless cooking. It's definitely worth trying. "Brilliant."

poor quality
Thin tinny top is burning on the edges from arching problems. I had a similar genuine Microhearth grill for years without any problems. I bought it direct from Microhearth top quality.
